Claremont Wedding Photography | Quyen + Daniel

Believe it or not I still have two weddings from 2010 that I still must share on the blog!!! So here is one of those weddings, because there is no time like the present!!Sarina Love had me along to shoot this wedding with her! I had SO much fun as usual with Sarina and I absolutely loved being able to share in Daniel & Quyen's big day!Daniel and Quyen are perfect for each other. He is strong-- a soldier actually. And she is so creative. She even made all the flowers for her wedding herself!! Daniel makes Quyen laugh and smile the biggest smile ever. Quyen makes Daniel's face radiate with happiness! Though they come from different cultural backgrounds, these two just make sense. He's the yin to her yang. And their bilingual Catholic ceremony was the perfect example of this! Also, their reception fused East-West traditions with traditional Western activities like a bouquet toss and cake cutting, and also a Eastern tradition of a celebratory Lion Dance which was SO much fun!!! Together Quyen & Daniel are the perfect blend. They are quiet yet confident! Ready to conquer the world together and also ready to whisper every day to one another I love you. These two just warmed my heart and I am so grateful to have been a part of their big day!! So without further ado....photos!This photo warms my heart! Daniel was full of emotion seeing his bride walk down the aisle!!

The ring bearer was very good about safely holding the ring pillow in his lap!
Sometimes my favorite moment is not the kiss itself. It's the moment right before and right after. This is the moment right after Quyen & Daniel kissed, and they are gazing at each other with such joy that it makes my heart melt!!!!
The bridal party was so cute!!
Quyen you are fabulous!!!!! Love the way you are workin' it!!
See what I mean? She is FAB!!!!! And FIERCE!!! Just how I like 'em!!
This photo is just so tender! Totally reflects the relationship these two share!!
J'ADORE!!!! Everything about this is fierce & fabulous!!
We shot the romantics on the campus of Claremont College. I LOVE shooting around there! The architecture is great and has a very historic feel! It definitely feels like you are in a small town and not in SoCal!!
I LOVED Quyen's bouquet and I am still in awe that she made it herself!!
This photo is everything I love. It's vibrant, fabulous, fierce and FUN!
Back at the reception, I loved Quyen & Daniel's first dance! Sooooo tender!!
And the Lion Dance!! I had never experienced one before and it totally blew my mind! Those dancers in the lion costumes are amazing!!!

Ashleigh Taylor Photography: Behind The Scenes!

I was inspired by J*'s post to also dig through all my photos from the year and try to show some pictures of me in action at weddings! You know just in case anyone is wondering what it's like behind the scenes when Ashleigh Taylor Photography shoots a wedding! I really wish I had thought more of this in advance-- like January 2010 in advance-- because unfortunately I don't have pics of me at every wedding I shot! Its kinda sad...like I wasn't even there...except I was! Oh I was! But I figured, let me show you the fun and funny photos I do have of me in action! So without further ado, here I am...in all my glory...shooting weddings!!! :::drumrolls::I'm a shorty so I always try to find chairs I can stand on...Yeah, I'll do anything to grab a shot!

Sometimes I'm a little touchy-feely to get just the right pose from my clients!!

I LOVE showing my clients photos from the back of the camera and seeing how excited they get! That always makes me happy!!

Um, I dunno what's going on here. I was clearly intensely focused on something! And thanks to the hubs for capturing me looking oh so sexy! ;)

I LOVE when I get to shoot alongside my hubby!! We make an awesome team!!

Awwwww me + Laurie at Pam + Justin's wedding! Laurie is my photog friend from DC, so when I shot Pam's DC wedding I HAD to have her along to 3rd shoot! Shooting with friends always yields fab pics!

I'm so adorable! Right???? Clearly I am.

Again, I LOVE showing my brides how dang gorgeous they look!! I think they love the instant feedback too! ;)

Always love getting a shot with my clients! Because by the time the wedding rolls around, my clients have become my good friends! Love you Ryan + Kristina! <3

Where's waldo?! I mean Ashleigh. Where's Ashleigh? I DARE you to find me in this photo. And hint, I'm standing on a chair again! ;)

PRODUCT: Wedding Albums by Leather Craftsmen

Here at Ashleigh Taylor Photography, we are really gearing up for 2011 and trying to take things to a whole new level!! I am SO committed to giving my clients THE BEST. That means the best experience, the best customer service, the best photos, and of course the best products to showcase those photos. There is NO better way to preserve and showcase your wedding photos than with a wedding album. And I'm super excited about our new albums for 2011!!These days, it seems albums get overlooked. Brides want digital files, and often that's all that is considered. But it shouldn't be. Because if your house was burning down, I doubt the first think you'd think to grab would be a disc. You'd probably first think to grab your photo albums. Furthermore, flipping through images on a computer is not an ideal way to share images with family, friends and your future kids and grandkids. It's just not a warm, cozy environment and it doesn't have that same gratification you get when you hold a photo and gaze at it.One of my favorite memories as a kid was taking out my parents' wedding album and flipping through it with my mom. I sat in her lap and we looked long at each photo. I was filled with wonder! My mom looked like such a beautiful princess and my dad looked handsome! I saw my grandparents and aunts and uncles all looking so young and happy.  Everyone looked amazing. I liked seeing the flowers, and the cake, and my mom and dad's first kiss. It didn't seem like their love story. In my mind, it was my story. Because in my little kid mind, it was that magical day, and my parent's love, that made me possible. Now looking at my parents' wedding album has a whole new set of emotions. So many beloved family members in it are no longer alive. And its so nice to hold onto their pictures through this album. It was a day where they looked their best and were so happy. And that is exactly how I want to remember my family that has passed-- particularly my grandparents who passed this year.Do not underestimate the power of a wedding album. It is an heirloom. It is your family history. And it will not just be a treasure to you, but one day it will be treasured by your kids, and grandkids, and even great grandkids. It will last the test of time and be handed down through generations. I just can't envision anyone handing down a disc with such love. And since, the importance of an album is so great, and since these albums must last the test of time, I have chosen to have all my weddings albums made exclusively by Leather Craftsmen. Leather Craftsmen has been around forever and there is a reason for it. They offer gorgeous, quality products and have amazing customer service. I am always searching for the BEST products to offer my brides, and Leather Craftsmen really is the BEST when it comes to albums.

The albums are delivered in a beautiful box! The box is sturdy and a great way to store and protect your album when you don't want to show it off! ...And I love that my logo is imprinted on the side of the box!!

Every album we design is unique! There are so many ways you can customize your cover. Each album comes standard with one cover photo and one line of imprinting on either the front, back or spine!! You can also choose between a leather or book cloth cover! Both are STUNNING!Below is a book cloth cover and we've added a stripe for a bit more pop! I LOVE the texture of the cloth-- and that it is vegan friendly!I love that the albums can really capture each couple's personality and style and yet still maintain a timeless elegant feel. It is the perfect accessory for your coffee table! I can guarantee that everyone who comes over will actually want to look it at! ;)

Here is another view of this STUNNING book! It's 12x12 which is quite an impressive size. It truly makes a statement!

For this album, we imprinted the bride and groom's name on the back of the back! It keeps the design clean, chic and a bit unexpected which I LOVE!

I LOVE the full page spreads!! Look at how stunning that is!

These books are modern and timeless. They are flushmount which means the pictures are printed right on the pages...and the pages lay flat!

The pages are Leather Craftsmen's standard thick black pages! They are guaranteed for life and won't warp or bend! The albums are all SO well crafted and made with care. These albums are meant to last for a lifetime and then some...this is definitely something to pass down to your grandkids and even your GREAT grandkids. Truly an heirloom!

I also love the luxurious leather covers as you see for Rachel & Mark's album. This cover is in Mahogany and it's so rich and gorgeous!

For this 10x10 album, we had the couple's name imprinted on the spine! It's super classy looking!! This book could not be more clean, classic and timeless!

We keep the designs so simple, with just a few photos per page and clean white backgrounds. This way your book will always feel timeless and the focus in always on your pictures! So beautiful!!
I hope everyone enjoyed this little preview of our new albums!! :) Want to see these beauties in person? Fill out an inquiry form and let's meet in person!! :)
San Juan Capistrano Mission Wedding Photography | Brenna + Brett

Today there won't be a Tuesday Top 5 post. Instead, I have a wedding to share. A very special wedding that totally made my week, nay my MONTH. So I think it makes sense to post it on the day I usually reserve for talking about the highlights of my week, right?! Brett and Brenna's San Juan Capistrano wedding last Saturday was so much more than just a wedding for me...it was an INCREDIBLE learning opportunity.Last December, when I was ready to take my career to the next level, I joined the [b]school. The [b]school is a private online community of photographers, started by [b]ecker who is one of the biggest wedding photographers in the country, perhaps in the whole world.  The [b]school is all about photographers learning from other photographers and everyone helping each other be better, which of course makes the industry better as a whole. Beyond just creating this amazing community, [b]ecker really goes above and beyond by personally sharing his knowledge with [b]schoolers. He often will choose [b]schoolers to shoot alongside him at his weddings. Which is truly the ULTIMATE learning experience. The thing is, the opportunities are coveted. I never thought I'd ever get select by [b] to shoot with him. But I wrote it down as a goal last January and set it aside. All year, every time [b]ecker had a wedding, it seemed I was already shooting a wedding of my own. Oh well, I thought, I'd probably be way too scared to ever shoot with [b]ecker anyways. Then finally this November, he posted he needed two shooters for a wedding. I was available! But what were the odds he's even choose me?? Needless to say I almost fell off the couch when I saw his email asking if I'd like to tag along. YES, I would! And that is where Brenna & Brett come in...Saturday wasn't just my day to learn from one of the best wedding photographer, it was Brett & Brenna's wedding day! And I got to help capture their love story, which is what I love. Brenna is so my type of girl-- vibrant, stylish, a ham for the camera, and in starry-eyed love. Brett can be quiet and calm, but when he gets comfy he totally lets loose and becomes a big goofball. Brett and Brenna fit together. Their love is BIG, just like their personalities! And I couldn't have been more thrilled to document that crazy big love they share.Thank you Brenna & Brett for being awesome. Thank you Lexi, my fellow [b]schooler who shot the wedding too for being a great carpool buddy, shooting buddy, and an all around wicked fun girl! And thank you SOOOOOOOOOOO much to [b]ecker for being so generous with your time, giving me the opportunity to shoot with you and see first hand how you work your photographer magic, and for being so open and honest! I will always remember this awesome wedding, and I can't think of a better way to wrap up the 2010 wedding season!!!!!!! And now...pictures!Brenna's late grandmother's rosary was wrapped around her bouquet. A truly sweet detail.

Brenna's wedding colors were taupe and red, so when I saw this red chair in her mom's house, I knew I HAD to photograph her shoes on it! And Taylor, the flower girl, is just so sassy! Love!

Gahhhh, Brenna! You are stunning!!!

Their ceremony was held at the Cathedral at Mission San Juan Capistrano! The Cathedral is GORGEOUS!!! Such a breathtaking place for a ceremony.

Loved the bows on the bridesmaids dresses and the red shoes they wore! Such chic details!!

Even the priest was practically in tears over their first kiss! SO special!!

I quickly grabbed this shot as the bridal party was walking to the old Mission for portraits. This shot turned out to be one of my favs of the day!!

A good second shooter catches little moments, when the main photographer is taking care of the big picture. While [b]ecker was grabbing portraits of the bridesmaids, I snapped this shoe shot! LOVE those sexy shoes ladies!!

Then [b]ecker went to photograph Brett and the groomsmen, so Lexi and I had some playtime with Brenna & the girls!! Love this fun candid shot!

Brenna!!! It's not even fair how STUNNING you are!!!

It rained on Saturday. A LOT. But luckily their was a break in the rain for our portraits! And the good news? That gorgeous overcast light! Look how amazing Brett & Brenna look!!

These two have winning smiles!!! Their kids are gonna be super smiley and cute, I can guarantee it!

I love these shots because they really show the day. A little wet and rainy. But super warm and cozy in the love department!

This might be my FAVORITE shot of the day! I know, no faces! But there's something about it!

At the end of the portraits, the sun peaked through the clouds and created the MOST dramatic light, which resulted in the photo on the left!!! KILLER, right?? Then when the sun went away we all headed to the car. And I snagged this shot of Bret & Brenna walking. Again, it totally sums up the day!!!

The wedding had some stunning decor!! Look at those big beautiful roses on the cake! And then another detail I LOVED was their heritage table, filled with old family wedding and engagement photos! So much history! And it shows how valuable wedding photography truly is-- not just for the bride and groom, but for their kids, grand kids, and great grand kids too!

Loved the submerged floral centerpieces and orange uplights! Seriously brides, if you are considering lighting for your reception, I say DO IT!! It adds so much to the look and feel of your reception!!

The toasts were full of laughter & tears!

And the first dance? Well it was SWOON WORTHY! Brett and Brenna are fabulous dancers!!!

This shot? It just makes me LOL!!! I realized I don't post enough funny reception shots, so I thought this would be a good place to start!

Another LOL! Brenna was calling out to her single lady friends to get up for the bouquet toss! The bouquet toss is very serious business. Don't mess with it.

See what I mean about serious business? These ladies are FIGHTING for that bouquet!

The night ended with a sparkler send off! I have never actually seen or done one of these so I was SUPER stoked! [b]ecker asked me to shoot from behind the couple and follow them through the arch because I am so tiny. It was a great way to give the couple another perspective. So here's the shot I captured. It's got motion blur because I was actually running while shooting it. Not really how I shoot, but this was a learning experience and so it was super cool to try something new! So I wanted to share the results!

The last shot of the night. Perfect way to end an perfect day!!!

Lastly... here is some photobooth fun of me, Lexi and [b]ecker!! How HILARIOUS are we? Answer: soooo very.
Tierra Rejada Ranch, Moorpark Wedding Photography | Tara + Tim

I absolutely adore outdoor weddings! And luckily, we get a lot of outdoor weddings in SoCal! There is something so beautiful about a couple committing to spend the rest of their lives together under a big blue sky-- perhaps by the ocean or under a big shady a tree. LOVE!Tara + Tim had a gorgeous outdoor wedding...on a working farm no less!! Walnut Grove at Tierra Rejada Ranch in Moorpark is one of my new favorite venues and it suited Tara + Tim SO well! Tara & Tim said "I do" on a crisp, early fall day, and the venue could not have been more perfect for them. The property is lined with trees, has a rustic feel, and Tara found details and decor that perfectly matched the mood of the day! Tara + Tim glowed all day and could not keep their eyes off each other. It was so beautiful. Their love. The setting. The SoCal Autumn weather. AMAZING! This is exactly why I love love love my job!Thank you sooooo much to Sarina Love for asking me to second shoot this wedding with you! It was a total blast!! And now, onto pics!!Tara looked so happy as she was getting ready!!

Love the details!!
Anticipation is written all over Tara's face!
How cute are these bridesmaids?! Adorable!!
More amazing details! LOVE those rustic looking cupcakes and I also LOVE Tim's boutonniere! It has wheat in it! How cute is that?!
The decor of this rustic wedding just made me giddy! The happy yellow sunflowers! The wheat that made its way into all the arrangements! The mason jars and chalk board table numbers! LOVEEEEE!
See what I mean about a gorgeous outdoor ceremony?! How can you not love it?!
The ceremony was touching and emotional. Not a dry eye on the farm!
And then...PURE JOY!!! I LOVE when couples get this excited when they are announced Mr. + Mrs! It's spectacular!
After the ceremony we snuck away for some FABULOUS bride and groom portraits! Everyone should know by now that this is my favorite part of a wedding day!
Tara you are GORGEOUS!!!!
Oh my gawd! These two are sooooo stinkin' cute! I could photograph them EVERY SINGLE DAY!!
Tara, you are gorgeous!!!!!!! Just breathtaking!!
Le sigh....what an amazing wedding! So glad I was able to be a part of it!! Seriously, I LOVE my job!!

Disneyland Hotel Wedding | Megan + Nicholas

I love all things Disney! Ever since I was a little girl, Disney has had a place in my heart! I LOVE LOVE LOVE animated Disney movies (especially the old school ones) and I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Disneyland!! AJ + I even are Disneyland annual pass holders-- so yeah we dig it quite a lot! All this is back-story. So you understand how GIDDY I was when my friend Sarina of Sarina Love Photography asked me to second shoot a Disneyland Hotel wedding with her back in August! It was pretty exciting and turned out to be such an extra fun wedding to photograph!!!Megan + Nicholas had a beautiful wedding on a bright August day at the Disneyland Hotel. They are from San Fransisco, so this was also actually a destination wedding for them! Disney Weddings handled so many of their details to make sure everything was truly a fairy-tale! From the fluttery pink bouquets, to the mickey shaped fan programs, to the gorgeous Cinderella castle cake-- it was everything a Disney fan could want!Megan was so giddy all day! She radiated beauty, joy and sweetness-- just like any Disney princess! And Nick was so charismatic, funny and so very kind. He definitely fits the bill for Prince Charming! Together these two are unstoppable and are simply fabulous! I have no doubt they will be living happily ever after!!And now onto the pictures!

I LOVED Megan's shoes and dress!! Truly what a modern princess would wear!!

On the left is Megan getting ready! Her hair and make up was done by the amazing Susie Chhuor team! On the right is Megan all done up and looking GORGE!!

Megan, you are sooooo beautiful!!! Don't you just love her big laugh and smile?! I know  I do!!

Megan's bridesmaids were super cute and giddy all day too!

And the boys? They were just plain cool!

LOVE the little Disney details throughout the day!

Mr. + Mrs.!!!

Can you tell I'm just a tad obsessed with her bling-tastic shoes?!

Oh yeah. Fierce & fabulous! You two are STUNNING!!

I love how much fun Megan and Nicholas have together!!

Fabulous! Just fabulous!!!

LOVE the cake! And the bright pink reception details!!

The first dance was so romantic!!

I also loved the father-daughter dance! It was so touching! Megan and her dad had so much fun together!!

Okay, I may or I may not have squealed when the Mickey theme music came on and they made their grand entrance!

Love this cute picture of Mickey kissing Megan on the cheek!! Perfect ending to a true fairy-tale wedding!!

Long Beach Wedding Photography | Matt + Patricia

Matt and Patricia are such a sweet and caring couple. I knew that when I initially met them, and saw it even more during their engagement session. So their wedding? It was no different! During their Catholic mass they kept giving each other stolen glances and smiles! When they were announced husband and wife, they beamed. And when they danced their first dance, to which I might add was impeccably choreographed, they melted into each other. These two could not have been happier to have just committed their lives to each other, and that made me super giddy to watch!!! :)Matt and Patricia's wedding was also filled with so much laughter! And really, I believe laughter is as essential to a wedding as happy tears. Though the priest had many wise words for the couple, he also threw a lot of jokes in. There were many chuckles infused in the ceremony. And at the reception, the toast from Matt's best man (his brother Chris) was HILARIOUS. It was almost a roast and not a toast. Everybody was laughing together, laughing so hard they had tears in their eyes.  It was definitely a wedding full of love and emotion. Tres beautiful indeed! So now onto the pictures! Sarina and I started the day with Matt and his groomsmen. They arrived at the church excited for the wedding!! :)

The ceremony was a traditional Catholic mass.
I love this moment of Patricia's brother giving her to Matt. So sweet and Patricia looks SO happy!
It was so sweet when they read their vows to each other!
Just announced Mr. and Mrs. Could these two be any CUTER?!
Off to portraits. This shot was even posed. They just looked at each other and smiled that giddy "we're married!!!" smile!! And me? I just snapped away!
Patricia had some pretty fabulous ruffly shoes on!! So I told her to show 'em off and work it oooouuuuttttt!!!!
Matt and Patricia, you two are GORGEOUS!
Sometimes I have my couples dance for me instead of pose. Patricia had a lot of fun with it and I LOVE how vibrant and fun this resulting shot is!!
The reception...Loved the blue UP-LIGHTS and candle light on the tables! Seriously though, uplighting is a great investment and adds to much depth and wow to the room!
A few snaps from the money dance!! Patricia sure raked it in!! But seriously, who wouldn't wanna dance with her?!
LOVE this bouquet shot!!! The perfect way to end the night!!

To see more from Matt and Patricia's Long Beach wedding watch the SLIDE SHOW below!

Lani Kai Beach, Oahu Hawaii Trash The Dress | Vanessa + Pat | Part 2

Here is part two of Vanessa and Pat's Hawaii Trash The Dress session! I think this is the part everyone has been waiting for...when Vanessa jumps in the ocean in her wedding dress! LOVE! You might think it's kinda scary or sad to trash your dress but I gotta say, Vanessa and Pat had a ton of fun with it! Vanessa was smiling and laughing and loving being in the warm waters of Lani Kai Beach! She was having so much fun, in fact, that I was totally jealous. If I'd had my wedding dress, I definitely would have jumped in right beside her!!! Really, I would have!! It looked THAT fun and liberating! Just see for yourself! We trashed the dress little by little. First, they walked on the shoreline as the water lapped up on their feet.

A little bit of fun dancing...

And then BAM! Water! In wedding clothes!! Fabulous!!! See what I mean about fun and liberating?!

My favorite thing about Lani Kai beach is the two little islands, known as the Mokuluas, that are off in the distance. The islands are so beautiful and make you feel like you are in a completely different world!! Put a gorgeous couple in front of the Mokuluas and I am in photographer heaven! See?!

Vanessa worked it in the water like nobody's business! Fierce, I tell you! FIERCE!

Trashing the dress doesn't have to only mean being in the water you know! Not at all! For example, you can get sexy in the sand!

REAL sexy!!!

Oh. Em. Gee. I am in total love with the fabulousness here. The sky! The light! The water! The most gorgeous and ferosh couple ever! Love. Love. LOVE!

And back in the water! 'Cause, really, being in the water is SO FUN!

Work it out you two! Work it oooooouuutttttt!

I love this!!

This shot was the PERFECT way to end the session! I just LOVE it!

If you want to see more Vanessa and Pat check out this SLIDE SHOW below!!!

Vanessa and Pat -- thank you so much for allowing me to capture your love and for having fun with me in Hawaii! I had a blast with you two! You guys are so fun to be around! And Vanessa, thanks for being willing to jump in the ocean in your wedding dress. You totally inspired me and I hope you love the images we created!!! xoxo - Ashleigh
Lani Kai Beach, Oahu Hawaii Trash The Dress | Vanessa + Pat | Part 1

When I found out I was going to be in Hawaii this summer, I just KNEW I had to set up a photo shoot there. Specifically on Lani Kai Beach in Kailua, because seriously? It is one of my most favoritest beaches ever. In the whole entire world. Lani Kai is just one of those magic places to me. The kind of place that defines paradise! My fab photog friend Pinky agreed to shoot with me, and being a Oahu local, made all the arrangements! She got her good friends Vanessa and Pat to model for us! Vanessa and Pat have been married for eight years! So this kind of worked out to be an anniversary session for them!! :)What struck me the most about Vanessa and Pat was that they acted like newlyweds all day. They were in young, puppy-love!! I love that they were having so much fun together, and how Pat can make Vanessa laugh so easily! And I loved that these two were in their own little world and pranced on the beach like it was just the two of them! I really couldn't have asked for a more perfect couple to photograph on the most perfect beach. It was truly an incredible experience and I am just in love with how the photos turned out!So in love that I will be posting more from their session later this week! So stay tuned for that! But for now, please check out round one of Vanessa and Pat's Mr. and Mrs. session on Lani Kai!We started the session off on the sand. We wanted to work our way up to getting them in the water! So first they rocked it out on the dry parts of the beach! hehe

Vanessa has the best laugh!! Her face totally lights up and it's totally contagious! When she starts laughing, everything gets brighter! Love it!

Aughhhh! Vanessa! You are GORGEOUS!

I love how these two can just  let loose and be themselves in front of the camera!

Vibrant. Fabulous and Fierce. Totally my style. Totally in LOVE!

Pat you are pretty handsome yourself!!

Vanessa! Work it out mama!!! You are so stunning!!! Pat is a lucky man!!

There's that laugh again! This photo is so fun and joyful! I just love it!!

Ahhh! That light!!! Swoon!!!!

Aren't these two just gorgeous?! Stay tuned later this week for Part 2 of this session! You will see how Vanessa TOTALLY trashed her dress! It was pretty amazing!!! You don't wanna miss it!! :)

I was so excited to wake up this morning to find that Serene + Mike's beautiful Bacara Resort wedding was featured on The Wedding Yentas!! Los Angeles Wedding Photography | Jeanette + Pete

Jeanette and Pete are such a fantastic couple. They are truly beautiful inside and out and I have loved working with them so much! I remember when I first began talking to Jeanette about her wedding, she told how her and Pete had been together forever. They had two beautiful baby girls. They were already a family. And really, that  was all they needed. But they had decided they were finally were ready to make it official. And I am so very honored that they trusted me to capture this very special day!Jeanette was such a giddy bride! When I arrived to the bridal suite she was glowing and excitedly told about all the  little details she wanted me to capture! It was really exciting seeing all of Jeanette's plans come together and it was even better watching her and her lovely bridesmaids giggle and ooh and ahhh as they got ready! One thing that was so sweet was Jeanette's "something borrowed" was a necklace and matching earrings that her friend Erika wore on her wedding day. Jeanette asked me if they looked familiar and I knew exactly that they were indeed from Erika! Seriously girl, I remember wedding details! Especially JEWELRY, mmm kay! ;)

Jeanette made a stunning bride! Look at that face! GLAMOR!!
Jeanette's two sisters laced her into her dress! It was very sweet!
The final reveal! Jeanette looked amazing in her gown! And I think all the bridesmaids totally agreed!
Work it mama! You are DIVINE!!!
How cute are Jeanette's shoes? I LOVE when brides spice up their wedding day footwear! Anything with ruffles, bows, rosettes, glitter or a pop of color is right up my alley!
Jeanette looked amazing, but Pete looked pretty handsome himself! And I gotta say Pete has a winning smile! It's just so warm and bright!
First Looks are my FAVORITE. It truly ADDS a special moment to your day, it certainly does not detract! Just look below at this passion and tenderness! That is an amazing moment for sure!
There's that winning smile again! Pete you rock!!
I love the passion in this next photo! Sizzle!
Work it outttt you two!! :)
Jeanette wanted to rock out this pose! Love how this diva thinks!!! ;) I think they rocked it for sure!
But my favorite is how I snapped a photo right after I made Jeanette laugh! Laughing is my favorite! And Jeanette has a cute little laugh!! ;)
Pete looked so happy as he saw his bride walk toward him during the ceremony!
And Jeanette was full of emotion herself!
The ceremony was so emotional and meaningful.
Jeanette loves red roses and infused them through out her day! I LOVED working with the coordinator, Marlene from I Do events! This was my second time working with Marlene and she is SO FAB! She made sure that the day ran smoothly and that all Jeanette's special red rose details were perfectly executed! Seriously, Marlene rocked it!
The newlyweds enjoyed their first dance together and it was such a joyful moment! You can really feel the love between them!
At the end of the night they did the money dance and I have to say I was pretty dang impressed how decorated in dolla bills Pete was! I think the photo below is hilarious! I laugh every time I see it so naturally I had to share!!

Vista Valley Country Club Wedding Photography | Christina + Syl

Christina and Syl finally tied the knot last Saturday at the beautiful Vista Valley Country Club in San Diego. I say "finally" because Syl said in his toast that he had been waiting for this day for 22 years. Yes, 22 years people!  Syl saw Christina for the first time in the third grade. He thought she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. So, one day he summoned up the courage to ask Christina if he could walk her home from school. Apparently she shot him down. But Syl didn't give up. He knew she was the perfect girl for him.Later in life, Syl became best friends with Christina's brother. But still she didn't give poor Syl the time of day. But one day everything changed. She was finally ready to let Syl in to her life and realized everything she ever needed had been in front of her all along! I absolutely LOVE that! It may have taken over twenty years, but Syl just proves that good things come to those who wait! And, I loved witnessing these two commit to each other forever & ever! It was truly a happy happy day!!Thanks so much Tina & Syl for trusting me with your big day! I LOVED meeting your sweet friends and family and documenting your joy! Also thanks to Sarina Love so much for second shooting with me!And now....onto pictures and a slide show!LOVE this dress shot! Thanks to groomsman Danny for helping us get the dress to hang from the chandelier! :D

I love these cute shoes!! Any shoe with a bow or ruffle is okay by me!!! ;)
There was so much anticipation in the room as Christina was getting ready!!
But everyone was so happy and excited once she was all ready to go!!!
How GORGEOUS are Christina & Syl?! Seriously these two make one very fine looking couple!!!
Christina and Syl chose to do a First Look which left time for bridal party pictures before the ceremony! That is one of the great benefits to a First Look, so much more time for pictures, and in turn a much more relaxed bride & groom! I think the bridal party really rocked it out for this photo!!!
'Tina and her girls!! Love it!!!!
I LOVE the pretty programs 'Tina made for the ceremony!! Just GORGEOUS!!
Christina and Syl had some good laughs during their ceremony which just goes to prove they are my kind of people!!! :)
After the ceremony we made good use of the GORGEOUS sunset light!! :)
Um...how FIERCE are these two?! I LOVE it!! One of my favorite shots EVER. For sure.
Work it outttt you two!
I LOVE the way these two are looking at each other. That is some serious attraction!
Christina, you are GORGEOUS girl!! She kinda looks like J.Lo to me...only SEXIER!
I love this photo too!! It feels so intimate! Like they are in their own little world! And I LOVE that! I love that my clients are comfy enough with me to just relax and be themselves in their own little world while I snap away!!! :)
The reception was decorated beautifully! Love that they chose to have two different centerpieces!
I don't usually post reception pics in my blog posts (I save those gems for the slide show) BUT I love this photo from Christina & Syl's first dance! I had my 85mm on so I was able to get in tight and really capture their emotion! And they were just so happy together! So sweet....sigh...

Temescal Gateway Park Wedding Photography | Christine + Tyler

Christine and Tyler got married at the beautiful Temescal Gateway Park in the Palisades last Saturday. The venue was such a perfect fit for them as it was completely set in nature. Trees and brush and leaves and grass everywhere you look. And I thought it was perfect because when I think about these two I think about nature. Maybe it's because of our engagement session where we hiked through the bluffs by UCSB (and apparently they still laugh about how I feared I might trip and fall to my death on the hike). Or maybe it's because Tyler is getting his Masters in Environmental Studies and hopes to work in public policy (which I think is so totally AWESOME). Or maybe it's just because they two just keep it raw and real. They are two of the most genuine people I have ever met-- never putting on a show or striving to be the center of attention. They just care deeply about those around them, and the world, and each other...and that is what makes these two so very special!Tyler and Christine met at UCSB and have been together ever since. Tyler and Christine are definitely the type of people who do everything with their full hearts and take commitments seriously. So when they found each other, I think it became clear to everyone around them that this relationship was something special. During the toasts, every one who got mentioned how they knew from the get-go that Tyler and Christine would eventually become husband and wife. Tyler's friends and family knew it was different with Christine. And Christine's friends and family? Well, they knew it was different with Tyler too. It really had been a long time coming for these two, so everyone was so very excited and filled with joy as they watched these two tie the knot. And they celebrated accordingly!I loved seeing Tyler & Christine's families come together and unite as one. Tyler and Christine both have such loving families and you can just see why Christine and Tyler turned out so darn good! ;) I was really touched by the love everyone had for each other. And I was also really touched by how welcoming they were to me and AJ. And apparently we scored brownie points for liking kimchi and other Korean delicacies. Christine's aunt Judy said I was 50% Korean! SCORE! But she told me AJ was actually 100% Korean, because he knew about k-pop bands High Five Of Teenager and Super Junior.  That AJ, always showin' me up! ;)So without further ado, please enjoy these photos from Tyler and Christine's beautiful, emotional day! And be sure to also watch the slide show below!I loved the deep purple color of Christine's shoes! So lovely!

Christine's bridesmaids, Natasha, Julia and Jess, were so happy for her! They all were looking at her with glee all day!
I love this shot of Christine walking down the aisle with her parents by her side! She was so excited to finally get to marry Tyler!
And Tyler was filled with  anticipation and emotion as he saw Christine coming towards him!
AJ grabbed this shot during the ceremony and I LOVE how it sets the scene!
I always LOVE catching the newlyweds coming back down the aisle! Such a joyous moment!
After the ceremony we spent some time getting the romantics! LOVE these shots of Tyler & Christine! They both look gorgeous!
This is probably my FAVORITE shot of the day! Christine and Tyler just look so happy and so good!
Christine you are beautiful!!! I LOVE your smile!
Work it ouuut you two!!
I LOVE these two shots! It's just sooo Christine & Tyler!
I LOVE laughter. It's just the best and I think people are prettiest when they laugh! So this photo just makes my heart melt! Christine you are so pretty!

Pickwick Gardens, Burbank Wedding Photography | Zoe + Nima

Zoe + Nima are a super sweet couple, and, ever since their RAD engagement session at the Pier, I have been so stoked for their BIG wedding! The day did not disappoint one bit! When AJ, Cindee, and I arrived at the bridal suite at Pickwick Gardens, Zoe was getting all dolled up. She was very calm but definitely giddy with excitement too! She had the cutest accessories picked out-- a lovely chiffon rosette to adorn her hair, and purple flats which also had rosettes on them! So adorable! Zoe has incredible style and her whole look came together wonderfully! Meanwhile Nima was getting ready with his groomsmen and they were all laughing as they tried to figure out how in the world to pin on their boutinierres. Thank goodness for their fabulous coordinator, Shana Fu of East West Events, for saving the day!Zoe and Nima are an amazing couple! They are so sweet together and always taking care of each other. They enjoy being silly and making each other laugh! And they enjoy just holding hands and having quiet moments together just as much! Another thing is that they are very caring and generous. They made sure that we were filled with yummy Indian food through out the entire day, and that we had a place to sit with the guests! Very lovely! The reception was very festive and filled with customs from Nima's Indian heritage! There was, as I mentioned, NUMMY Indian food, Indian music, and two special performances. Then things got really romantical when Nima took to the microphone himself and serenaded Zoe with his rendition of Jason Mraz's "Im Yours." Everyone was in awe. It was pretty much the SWEETEST THING EVER. Later on in the evening, Zoe and Nima changed into traditional Indian Wedding outfits and we took some fun night shots outside! It was a prefect end to a great day!Thank you to Zoe and Nima for trusting me with your special memories and for being so generous and sweet! Thanks to my hubby AJ and friend Cindee for shooting with me! Thanks to Shana for coordinating, Floral Elements for the pretty florals, White Night Designs for the elegant draping and linens, Jaqki's Cakes for the yummy cakey goodness, DJ Sandeep for rocking the dancefloor and Sarah Young Make Up for making Zoe and her girls so very glam! I loved how this day came together thanks to everyone's hard work! So now....onto PICTURES!!!!!! Woooohooo!!!!Zoe and her friends were so excited as they got ready!

I loved Zoe's purple bouquet made up of orchids, mini calla lillies and roses!
The first look was such a sweet moment!!! But then again, it ALWAYS is!
Aw, Zoe + Nima, you two are STUNNING!
I LOVE this shot!!!!
....and I LOVE this one too!
During the ceremony, when the minister asked Nima if he was prepared to commit himself to Zoe, the groomsmen jumped in and prompted Nima's response! But I am pretty sure he would have said YES even if his groomsmen hadn't answered for him!
I love this moment! Just announced Mr. + Mrs.!!!!
Zoe + Nima's reception looked lovely!
The drapes were a nice touch and added a certain soft, elegance to the room!
Then we snuck away to get some romantics in the sunset light! Gorgeous, no?
How fierce are these two?! Rawr!!!!
I am 100% in LOVE with this photo!!
These two are so silly together and have so much fun!!! Love that playfulness guys! LOVE it!
I loved their Indian outfits too!

Los Angeles Temple Wedding | Roy & Kristine

If I could use one word to describe Roy & Kristine it would be: rockin'!! These two have got it goin' on! They have such a killer sense of style, and are so fun to be around!! I knew their wedding was going to rock when I saw the bridesmaids & groomsman gathering around the back of the Los Angeles Temple. The bridesmaids wore casual-chic black dresses and flip flops. The groomsmen wore these sweet gray ties that matched their gray plaid Vans. It was awesome! Roy & Kristine didn't fail to impress me! They came out of the temple looking like rock stars, effortlessly cool & stylish and the crowd of their family & friends cheered them on! Yep, I knew right then that the day was gonna be rad!And it was! It was hot too! Probably one of the hottest days West LA has seen all summer. And there were like literally 20 other weddings going on, and we were all fighting for the good light to take pics in. But we worked out! ;) We managed to beat the heat, and the crowds, and create some super fun images worthy of a rockin' couple like Roy & Kristine! I really love the way the pictures capture Roy & Kristine's unique since of style, super fun personalities, and how in love they are. Roy & Kristine are the type of couple that can be fierce one second and laughing so hard the next. They joke with each other and get lost in their own world. They smile genuinely. And they smile big. :) It is truly a joy to be around them! Their super cool style totally inspires me but their love inspires me even more! Thanks Roy & Kristine for trusting me to capture your memories! Castaway Gardens, Burbank Wedding Photography | Ryan & Kristina

I loved Ryan & Kristina since the moment I met them. Our meeting was easy, fun, and just awesome. We chatted like old friends, we laughed and before the night was through they booked me on the spot. From that day forward I have been waiting for their wedding. And let me tell you the day did not disappoint at all! Ryan & Kristina had a beautiful vibrant, Hawaiian inspired wedding held at The Castaway Gardens in Burbank. The day was filled with so much laughter, tears of joy and even a little rain. What? Rain in LA in July?!!! Yep!!! About 2 minutes before the ceremony was set to start the sky opened up and gave us a little Hawaii-esque tropical shower. We all jumped up and huddled to the ONLY covered area on the Luau Garden grounds! But as soon as the sun came back everyone went back to their seats and the day just moved right along. It was quirky but perfect. It definitely added a funny little story to the day-- one I'm sure Ryan & Kristina will tell to their grandkids! So Ryan & Kristina. These two are perfect for each other. They make each other laugh. They take care of each other. They are already a family, and their kids are so super amazing. I can't even imagine a more perfect pairing. And during their vows I learned even more about these two and just how good they are for each other. How they have survived some trying times together. And how they have always grown closer and stronger through it all. Together these two have found the fairytale love they had always hoped for, but weren't sure really existed. And that is amazing. It's inspiring and it proves to me that fairytales DO exist in real life. Sigh...So Ryan & Kristina, thank you for trusting to me to document your big day. I loved the day so much and I have had a blast reliving it as I edited these images for you! You two have something special, and it inspires me! :) Also thank you to Jenn for second shooting with me-- shooting with you is always a blast!!!And now onto the photos.....Kristina's shoes were fabulous!!!! If my feet weren't totally child-size I would so ask to borrow them!

Did I ever mention how getting ready pics are some of my favorite of the day?! The anxiousness & the excitement brewing! LOVE it!
Kristina, you glow! When you laugh and smile your whole face lights up and its AMAZING!
I'm obsessed with this shot from their first look. The way the light is illuminating Kristina is HEAVEN!
And this is why I LOVE first looks! See this emotion?! Beautiful!!!
Ryan and Kristina have a beautiful family together! <3
Um... so this is when it was pouring and we all huddled under the only covering there was and waited for it to pass so we could have a wedding! Yeah, rain in LA in July! Crazy but it added some character to the day! Thanks Jenn for grabbing this shot for me!
Kristina walked down the aisle to Brandi Carlile's "The Story" and it made me cry. A lot. It was one of the most moving aisle walks ever...like I was watching a movie!
After the ceremony we grabbed some romantics!!
Work it ouuuuuuut!!!!
I love EVERYTHING about this!!!
Did I ever tell you guys I am really funny?! This picture is PROOF! I am HILARIOUS. I am a modern day Lucille Ball ;)
I loved the tropical and vibrant details of this wedding! And the hanging escort cards were an adorable touch!!!
They rocked the reception to "Sexy Back" and it was amazing. Everyone LOVED it! And Ryan & Kristina proved they have some serious moves!
I love that Ryan & Kristina have fun with everything they do together. Including cutting the cake. Awesome!

Ceresville Mansion Frederick, Maryland Wedding Photography | Pam & Justin

I am super stoked to blog these images from Pam & Justin's fabulous wedding at the Ceresville Mansion in Frederick, Maryland! Pam & Justin were the first couple to book me for 2010, and their wedding was going to be just outside the Washington DC area no less! I can't tell you how giddy I was-- not just to have booked my first wedding for the next season, but to book a destination wedding! I LOVE traveling and absolutely love to photograph weddings outside the SoCal area! I knew their wedding would be a real treat! What I didn't know was how over the year, despite the long distance, I would become friends with Pam! I was so excited to get updates from her with details of their big day and to hear about the excitement in their lives! My hubby AJ was actually already online buddies with Justin and Pam for years, so it was really cool us all getting to know each other and finally meeting face to face on the big day! I can now say I have two super awesome homies in the DC area now! Holla!Justin and Pam's wedding was held in the beautiful Ceresville Mansion in Frederick, Maryland. I felt like the Mansion totally represented them as a couple-- sophisticated, timeless, charming. Pam and Justin are just so sweet together. Their faces totally light up when they see each other, they get lost in each others eyes, they lean on each other through everything, and they still have the passion of a brand new romance! They are perfect for each other. It is totally obvious that their love is timeless. So, I loved the historic feeling of the venue they chose, and how the whole day was filled with classic details. From the the three piece string band that played during their ceremony, to the elegant decor, to their impeccably written vows (Justin quoted Proust in his vows!!),  to the reception filled with amazing and warm toasts from so many family members and friends, the day perfectly represented them. It was amazing, and I was truly honored to have captured the day for them. Thank you so much Justin & Pam for having me and AJ come all the way across the country to be a part of your big day. I loved every single moment & I am so happy for you both! And also thank you my east coast buddy, Laurie Bracewell, for second shooting with me and AJ. Also thanks to Wayne at Ceresville for coordinating the day beautifully, and to Carla Ligon-Miller for rocking Pam's make up & hair!! ;) And now onto the photos!!

I love this shot of Pam's mom seeing Pam all made up for the first time! It was a very touching moment!

AJ snagged some shots of Justin getting ready across the hall, while Laurie & I were with Pam!

I loved how excited Pam was when she saw herself in the mirror! She really lit up the room with her beauty!!!

Work it.

I love everything about this!!!

The first look...

A few fun bride & groom shots! I took the photo on the left, and AJ grabbed the photo on the right!

It was truly a beautiful ceremony!! Not a dry eye in the house!

A few more romantics with the newlyweds!! I loved this lily pond!

Love this shot Laurie grabbed on the left & the one I grabbed on the right! Sunset light...sigh...

The bling!!

The reception decor was very elegant.

Pam and Justin were so happy throughout the night! And they laughed and smiled as they listened to all the amazing toasts their guests made.

Can't get enough of Justin & Pam's beautiful wedding?? Watch the SLIDESHOW below!!

Camarillo Wedding Photography | Katie & Jon

Katie & Jon are such a fun couple, and I had an absolute blast second shooting their Camarillo wedding with my good friend Katie Neal.  Thanks girl for having me along! It was such a fun day!I remember walking into the room where Katie was getting ready and there was such an excitement in the air! The girls were giggling with nervous energy but yet Katie remained completely calm. She opened a very sweet card from soon-to-be-hubby Jon and was just beaming. It's moments like that where I go "Man, I LOVEEEEEE my job!"Katie & Jon's wedding was held at Jon's parents Camarillo home. On the wall in the entry way is a beautiful family tree mural and that morning Jon's mother painted Katie's name on the wall. Katie was so excited and it was a great way to welcome her to the family! After the ceremony, we drove off to Jon's favorite park to steal some sexy and romantic shots of the bride & groom. An open field. Gorgeous light. Happy newlyweds. Again, its moments like this where I go "Holy McMoly I LOVE my job! So freaking much!!!" So without further ado, Jon & Katie.

I LOVE this getting ready shot of Katie! Like seriously, how GORGEOUS is she?!
Sexy! Fabulous!
LOVE this!!!
