Abby + Tanner were married the day after New Year’s at Sunstone Villa! Now, I have photographed many weddings at the beautiful Sunstone Villa over the last four years, but this wedding was a first! I have never shot at a wedding at the Villa in January…or really any winter month! So this wedding is a little bit different than all my other Villa weddings you have seen of mine… but oh boy was it really pretty!The sky was gray and the air was chilly and crisp, but the light, ooooh the light, was incredible! The vines were bare but the remaining branches created lines and shapes that were beautiful and bare. There was a tent— smartly so— because it was windy and way too cold to dine and dance under the stars. But there was still an amazing backdrop of the Villa. The berry-red and white color palette was festive, and went along with the holidays (because on January 2nd things still should feel festive). It was without a doubt gorgeous.But the best part of the day was of course Abby and Tanner. Could there be a couple any cuter? They were high school sweethearts and they were so thrilled to be becoming man and wife. And their families were pretty adorable too. I honestly could shoot their wedding every single weekend and be stoked, because they are that awesome and the wedding was that lovely!!Thank you to Kelsey for 2nd shooting! I can’t even believe I am just now blogging this shoot! It’s kind of an Ashleigh Taylor "vintage" by now! LOL! So yes, this shoot is about 2 years old but it’s still fabulous and deserves to be celebrated. This shoot was a collaboration with Hint of Chic and Haute Catering for the (what was then brand new) wedding venue Sogno Del Fiore. Sogno is a gorgeous winery property and perfect if you are looking for a beautiful outdoor wedding in Santa Ynez!We wanted to show the property off in a unique way for this shoot so we came up with a Moroccan theme. I LOVE all things Moroccan design so this shoot was a total dream for me! And apparently 100 Layer Cake agreed because they featured it on their site as well!Between the lush colors of the design, the textural flowers, and the yummy middle eastern cuisine this shoot is definitely not your average vineyard wedding inspiration! santa barbara engagement photography were wed recently at The Crossroads Estate in Los Olivos! Photographing this wedding was a dream come true for many reasons. First, I've always wanted to shoot at this stunning rustic barn venue. Second, Lani owns Spark Events, a top Santa Barbara lighting design company for weddings + events. It is always such a HUGE honor and privilege to photograph for a wedding industry peer! Lani knows everyone and works with the best of the best, so to be asked to photographed his big day was definitely humbling and so exciting. But lastly and most importantly, this wedding was a dream come true to photograph because Lani + Jess are truly the sweetest people ever and were so wonderful to work with. Weddings are always amazing when the couple is so genuine and kind!As you can imagine, Lani + Jess lined up a dream team of vendors. Donna Romani Events planned the wedding perfectly, NLC Productions created a stunning design and florals for the day, Lani's creative team at Spark knocked it out of the park with some insanely gorgeous lighting design, Riviera Productions rocked it out on video, and a big thanks to Kelsey for second shooting for me!This wedding has to be seen to be believed, it is so so beautiful! Donna + Ron had one of my favorite weddings of 2015! It was held at the beautiful Ravenscroft Estate in Montecito. There was so much to love about this fabulous affair planned and designed perfectly by Lindsey of Magnolia Event Design-- from the perfect setting, to Donna's stunning gown, to the beautiful flowers by Nico of NLC Productions... But truly the best part of the day was Donna + Ron! These two are so sweet and kind and genuine and just the best people you could ever hope to meet! They were so happy all day. They were just a joy to photograph! I also loved how relaxed and intimate their event was. It was all about celebrating the day with those most important to them. The focus was on love and it was stress and drama free-- which is exactly how weddings should be!Donna's beautiful hair and make up was done by Page of Absolutely Fabulous Glamour Studio.Special thanks to Kelsey for second shooting with me!
Anna + Mikey are another one of my awesome 2015 wedding couples! Their beautiful wedding was held at The Bacara a few weeks ago and perfectly planned by the amazing Donna of Donna Romani Events. I just adore working with Donna, she always makes sure the day runs smoothly! I loved photographing Anna + Mikey as you could just feel the love they had for each other in every smile, stolen glance and embrace. They make each other laugh and they make each other shine bright. They had the sweetest vows to each other and their siblings also honored them with some heartfelt and hilarious toasts! It was a perfect day, spent over looking the gorgeous Santa Barbara coast line and filled with love and laughs! I am so excited to share this wedding for so many reasons! This was my first wedding of 2015 and the first wedding I have shot since no longer being pregnant! Let me just tell you, even though it is a little challenging shooting while being a nursing mama, shooting while pregnant was way more physically taxing! I am also so excited because this wedding took place at Ranchos Dos Pueblos which is one of my top 3 favorite wedding venues in Santa Barbara (maybe in the world??)!!!Seriously, Dos Pueblos Ranch is a photographer's dream. I have shot there a couple times before and I don't think I could ever tire of it. From the private beach and ocean lawn to the dilapidated green houses to the rustic barn to the orchards to the lush natural landscape... there are SO MANY AWESOME PLACES TO SHOOT! My only wish is that I could have had even more time to just shoot and shoot and shoot! But even with the crazy tight timeline of a wedding day I think I was able to capture so much beauty! Seriously! Amazing!Then of course was my couple. Though I normally do engagement sessions with my couples, I did not have the opportunity to do one with Vanessa & Mark, so really their wedding was the first time we met! That's always a bit of a challenge for all parties too figure each other out on the spot, but luckily Vanessa & Mark are awesome and really rocked it in front of the camera! Vanessa + her bridesmaids are practically models! What a gorgeous and sweet group of gals! And Mark and his groomsmen were really stand up guys! I had a blast photographing them and just love the images that we got! I mean, just look at the length of this post!Special thanks to my ever amazing friend & talented second shooter Kelsey, who definitely helped extra when we got into a pinch with the timeline! I am back!! I took 4 months more or less off to enjoy new motherhood and my adorable baby boy! But wedding season is up & running and so am I! I am also of course shooting boudoir & glamour too! ;)I am excited to share this gorgeous light filled engagement session from one of my wonderful 2015 couples, Brigitta & Brian! I had an amazing time shooting them-- it felt so good to be working with my couples again! Brigitta & Brian are just the type of couple I love to work with: sweet, easy going, fun, trusting of my expertise and SO IN LOVE! We shot here in Santa Barbara, on the gorgeous Ellwood Bluffs. Natasha + Greg are one of my absolute FAVORITE couples of the year! They are just so sweet, caring and fun loving that it is always a joy to be around them! Their wedding at Rockwood Santa Barbara Women's Club was no different! Natasha wanted a stress free affair, which is a tall order when we are talking about a **wedding** after all, but some how she pulled it off! There were so many cute DIY details handmade by Natasha and her family. The very talented Hint of Chic filled in the gaps with some gorgeous floral arrangements! Sophie of Amazing Days Events made sure the day was coordinated perfectly, adding to the stress free vibe! And Pure Joy Catering provided some dee-lish eats! Natasha and Greg were surrounded by many friends and loved ones, but chose to forgo the traditional bridal party which added to the laid back vibe! And they did a First Look so we could do as many photos as possible before the ceremony, which left plenty of time to party after the ceremony concluded!All in all it was a truly fun, bright, gorgeous and relaxed fete and I was so pleased to document it! Samantha + James were another one of my favorite 2014 couples!! These two came all the way from Canada to get married in beautiful Santa Barbara Wine Country at Firestone Vineyard, and boy was their day nothing short of amazing!! First of all, Sam + James hired a dream team of vendors which included Hint of Chic doing full service event design, florals and all the planning, Haute Catering on food & beverage, Town & Country on Rentals, La Tavola for linens and Bella Vista for lighting design! So of course this event was going to be a beauty, and it was!But also the day was perfect because Sam + James are perfect. These two are so sweet and so in love. They were so happy that this day they had dreamed of for so long was finally coming true! They were surrounded by their closest friends and family only, which made the wedding so intimate and personal. You could really feel the love that was there! At the reception, there were lots of laughter and happy tears during toasts, and crazy dance moves once the party got started! Brenna + John are such a sweet couple and were married just over a week ago at Godric Grove, here in Santa Barbara! Brenna + John are former wedding photographers themselves so it was a HUGE honor to be able to photograph their big day! And what a lovely day it was! From the scenic venue, nestled in hills which overlook Santa Barbara, to the beautifully written vows, to the fun bridal party to the sweet details... all was perfect! Brenna looked like a dream and beamed with joy from inside out! John was glowing with happiness as well! And these two just gazed at each other and smiled all night long! It is such a pleasure to work with such kind, caring, sweet people and Brenna + John are definitely one of the sweetest couples I've ever worked with!

It's always such a HUGE honor to shoot a wedding & engagement for another top wedding professional! It was amazing to shoot Kaitlin of La Fete Weddings big day, almost exactly one year ago! And next fall, I am so excited to be photographing Lani of LBPS Events wedding to his beautiful fiance Jessica! Lani & Jess have lined up the best of the best of Santa Barbara's event pros as their vendors and I am so honored to be on the list! Eeek! But no pressure, right? hehe!Lani & Jess wanted to do part of their shoot at the historic Marjorie Luke Theater, which is part of Santa Barbara Junior High. They each spent many many days in this theater and are both theater-lovers (like myself) so the location was super meaningful! And it really fit their fun personalities! Shannon is a very special bride to me! She has been following my work for at least 4 years, maybe longer, via Facebook & here on my blog (we had some mutual friends and became friends on "the book" ourselves)! So of course I was flattered and honored that as soon as she got engaged she chose to hire me! She even planned her date around my availability which was crazy sweet of her! Her big day was held in San Clemente-- and it was a destination wedding for both her & me! I made the trip down from Santa Barbara, and her and her fiance came all the way from Texas, as did many of the guests! San Clemente is just a beautiful area of California, and her historic, ocean-side wedding venue Casa Romantica was super lovely to photograph!Shannon & Kyle are just so cute and sweet together. It was easy to photograph them because you could tell how over the moon they are for each other and how happy they were to be getting married! There were a lot of special touches and cute details to this day-- which was perfectly executed by Sterling Engagements! The food by 24 Carrots was dee-lish as well! Amanda + Neno were one of the cutest, sweetest couples I had the pleasure of photographing this year! These two were high school sweethearts and so this wedding was a long time coming! They chose to have a Santa Barbara destination beach wedding because they just love the scenery here, and who could blame them?! It was so sweet how all their friends and family gathered to be there for them on their special day. Each person in their bridal party even gave a short toast to let the the couple know how great they were together and what great friends they are! It was seriously one of the cutest moments I've ever witnessed at a wedding! The sweetest thing about this wedding though, was of course, just watching Amanda + Neno together! Neno looked like the happiest guy on Earth and Amanda was over joyed as well! I loved documenting their passion for each other! Randa + Joe were recently wed that the lovely Fess Parker hotel in Santa Barbara. The day was perfectly planned by Meg West of Events by M + M. Randa + Joe are the cutest couple ever! Randa so fun to be around-- so bubbly and sweet and caring. I just adore her. And Joe is so kind and loving and you can tell all he wants is to make sure Randa is happy and well taken care of. They are so adorable together! They smiled from ear to ear through out their entire ceremony and then for the rest of the day. They were even good sports about getting in the sand at the beach for some romantic post ceremony pics together! Kimberly + Paul were married at the beautiful El Encanto Resort over Memorial Day Weekend, and I was so honored to document their lovely day! The day was perfectly planned and designed by La Fete Weddings, with gorgeous and modern florals by NLC Productions. Kimberly and Paul thought through so many details of their day which made the whole wedding so unique and personal. From their wine-box ceremony (where the unopened love letters they wrote to each other on their wedding day were sealed in a wine box to be opened on their 5th anniversary), to the stationery which Paul designed himself, to their music selections at the reception-- it was also so perfectly them. Their friends and family from around the world all gathered in Santa Barbara to celebrate with them-- and what a celebration it was! Delicious food, wild dancing, and hilarious toasts all made for a perfect evening. It was truly one of the really special and memorable weddings where you can just feel that every one was so happy to be there. It was wonderful! What can I say about Tanya + James wedding other than it was simply perfect? The venue, (my favorite) Sunstone Villa is always breathtaking. The decor on this particular event was extra special though! The setting with vineyards in full bloom was beyond picturesque. But more than these things, this wedding was perfect because of the people. Tanya & James are just remarkable. Two of the kindest and most genuine people you could ever hope to meet. And there family & friends were no different! Everyone was happy, relaxed and having the time of their lives which always makes a wedding day perfect. Tanya looked like an absolute dream-- the kind of bride you see in magazines! And James totally knew it. He beamed from ear to ear every time he laid eyes upon her. Really, it was a beyond perfect day. I am so excited to share Danielle & Jevin's exquisite wedding which I recently photographed at The Biltmore. As you may remember from their engagement session, Danielle & Jevin are a super adorable couple! They are so happy and in love and just genuinely sweet to be around. Jevin just beams when he is around Danielle. And you can tell Danielle is just smitten with him as well!
These two married at the gorgeous Biltmore Four Seasons Resort in Santa Barbara. The day was impeccably planned by Donna Romani Events. J & D had a beautiful and intimate wedding last week at the El Encanto Resort in Santa Barbara. El Encanto is a historic and breathtaking property nestled in the hills above the city. It is the perfect place for nature lovers to get married as you are surrounded by hills, trees and an amazing ocean view! So it was truly the perfect place for J & D to get married as they love California and our beautiful coastline.J & D traveled half way across the country so they could be married here in Santa Barbara and it was such an honor to document their beautiful day. These two have been together for quite a long time, and so it was truly moving to witness them being able to finally make their love and commitment to each other official. They were surrounded by their family and closest friends who cheered them on with so much love and joy. After their ceremony, they had a beautiful intimate dinner on the Ocean Terrace. Great conversation, yummy food, heartfelt toasts, and lots of laughs were had by all. It was such a happy night. I was grinning so big from ear to ear photographing it. Because weddings like this? Weddings where it's all about love, family, friends, and just celebrating the gifts of life? That is really what it is all about.Huge thanks to Percy Sales for his amazing job planning this wedding!
