santa barbara engagement photography were wed recently at The Crossroads Estate in Los Olivos! Photographing this wedding was a dream come true for many reasons. First, I've always wanted to shoot at this stunning rustic barn venue. Second, Lani owns Spark Events, a top Santa Barbara lighting design company for weddings + events. It is always such a HUGE honor and privilege to photograph for a wedding industry peer! Lani knows everyone and works with the best of the best, so to be asked to photographed his big day was definitely  humbling and so exciting. But lastly and most importantly, this wedding was a dream come true to photograph because Lani + Jess are truly the sweetest people ever and were so wonderful to work with. Weddings are always amazing when the couple is so genuine and kind!As you can imagine, Lani + Jess lined up a dream team of vendors. Donna Romani Events planned the wedding perfectly, NLC Productions created a stunning design and florals for the day, Lani's creative team at Spark knocked it out of the park with some insanely gorgeous lighting design, Riviera Productions rocked it out on video, and a big thanks to Kelsey for second shooting for me!This wedding has to be seen to be believed, it is so so beautiful! There are some weddings that are just so bittersweet...because I just LOVE the couple so much. I spend a year or more counting down to their big day, and just adore working with them. Their day comes and it's pure magic. And that's where the bitter part of "bittersweet" comes in, because inevitably the wedding comes to an end and then I can't look forward to their wedding anymore. Sigh...Lauren + Gian's Palm Springs wedding was one of these bittersweet ones. I have adored them since our initial meeting, and have been anxiously awaiting there wedding for awhile now! These two are just the type of couple I LOVE to work with-- kind, sweet, madly in love with each other, trusting, stylish, easy going, and just plain fun to hang out with. Their wedding-- which was a Brazilian Carnival-themed Palm Desert fete-- did not disappoint! In fact, it was so great I am mostly sad it's over already!The day was beautifully planned by Natalie Sofer Events. It was held at the bride's parents' beautiful home in La Quinta. The bridal party was super fun. Lauren + Gian looked like a dream and were just beaming with joy all day. They were up for anything as far as photos went-- letting me take them out into the sandy desert for photos after their ceremony! They were just so happy and in love and over-joyed, it was a great energy to be around! The reception was like one giant cocktail party, with Carnival masks and Brazilian food and peacock feathered-decor! It was a perfect day and I was honored to be a part of it!Thanks to Erin for 2nd shooting yet again!

I am so beyond excited to share these images from Kaitlin + Andrew's wedding which took place on Saturday at Villa Sevillano in Carpinteria, CA.Kaitlin and her mother Colette are the planners and owners of La Fete Weddings-- one of the top luxury wedding planning firms in Santa Barbara. They were one of the first people in the local Santa Barbara events industry to welcome and include me when I first moved to town. They were so nice to have lunch with me, invite me to networking events and just be helpful. I also worked on Brooks + Samantha's wedding with them last year! Not only are Colette and Kaitlin super creative and amazing at what they do, they also are just really sweet, kind, generous, and loving  people. So of course, I was beyond floored  and honored when they asked me to photograph Kaitlin's own wedding! I knew it would be AMAZING!And it was! But to be honest, even though the day had the most beautiful setting + details ever, and even though Kaitlin + Andrew look straight up like super models out of a magazine, what made the day SO fun to photograph was all the joy and love that filled the air. Colette and her husband John beamed with pride through out the day. Kaitlin was so giddy, Andrew was so excited. Everyone was just having a good time. There was no stress, no anxiety, no attitude of "this better be all I was imagining." This was just a bride, a  groom, their family and best friends all enjoying the present moment and being thankful for it. And when weddings have that much heart and that much love of the present moment, it is so easy for me to do my job and take amazing photos!So sit back and enjoy the eye candy... there sure is lots of it!
