So excited to share another recent engagement session, for yet another one of our fabulous 2015 couples! Donna + Ron are getting married here in Santa Barbara, and on a recent wedding planning trip I was able to meet up with them to take their engagement portraits. We shot at the always gorgeous Sunken Gardens of the Santa Barbara Courthouse! Fun! These two are so sweet and full of joyous energy, I just can't wait for their intimate wedding! I am back!! I took 4 months more or less off to enjoy new motherhood and my adorable baby boy! But wedding season is up & running and so am I! It's always such a HUGE honor to shoot a wedding & engagement for another top wedding professional! It was amazing to shoot Kaitlin of La Fete Weddings big day, almost exactly one year ago! And next fall, I am so excited to be photographing Lani of LBPS Events wedding to his beautiful fiance Jessica! Lani & Jess have lined up the best of the best of Santa Barbara's event pros as their vendors and I am so honored to be on the list! Eeek! But no pressure, right? hehe!Lani & Jess wanted to do part of their shoot at the historic Marjorie Luke Theater, which is part of Santa Barbara Junior High. They each spent many many days in this theater and are both theater-lovers (like myself) so the location was super meaningful! And it really fit their fun personalities! After that, we finished the session with some pretty sunset light over at Alice Keck park! It was dreamy!Check out the photos below!

Anne + Eric are my first couple who will be married in 2014-- in January to be exact! They booked me online, so it was so very nice to do this engagement session with them! I just adored photographing them-- they are one of the most elegant, stylish and attractive couples ever! But more importantly they are very sweet people! They wanted to do their session at The Bacara Resort which is also where they will be getting married. We had a ton of fun going all over the property to get some gorgeous shots! Kaitlyn + Matt are one of my adorable June couples! I absolutely adored taking their engagement photos at UCSB, Kaitlyn's alma mater, and know their wedding is going to be even better!Kaitlyn + Matt are a great example of why I require my couples to do an engagement session. It's funny too because in our initial phone consultation, Kaitlyn had mentioned she'd be ok with not doing a session if I offered a package without one. Luckily when I told her engagement sessions are a MUST DO, she was on board! Because at the beginning of the shoot I could tell that these two, despite their gorgeousness and effortless style, were a bit nervous to be in front of the camera. However, I worked my magic and by their 2nd outfit they were carefree and posing confidently like super models! I was so glad to have the chance to work with them before the wedding, and know that the wedding photos will be easy-breezy now!The bonus? Now these two have some GORGEOUS images of themselves just having fun... in normal attire (versus wedding clothes) and just enjoying the beach at UCSB! It's so great to have some professional photos beyond just wedding photos! Even better? We all get to enjoy their photos too! Check them out below...

I am so thrilled to share Brianna + Jordan's gorgeous Montecito engagement session which we shot at San Ysidro Ranch (which is actually where they got engaged) and Butterfly Beach! Only the best for these two! ;)Brianna + Jordan were referred to me by my beloved 2012 bride, Renita... so OF COURSE these two are awesome! We had so much fun just playing around and having fun at their engagement, and I think these pictures show that! Their love and infectious personalities jump out of the photos so much, you almost don't even notice the gorgeous Santa Barbara backdrops! And that's always my goal anyways, because engagement photos are about LOVE and not about the location! What is not to love about this gorgeous Santa Barbara engagement? Katie + Scott have so much style-- and it's probably my favorite style out there-- carefree, spirited, in LOVE. These two always look effortless and lovely, like they stepped out of a Free People or Anthropologie catalogue! It is definitely in their spirit-- these two love nature, cowboy boots, rustic charm and living in the moment. And their love is definitely as effortless as their style! Vanessa + Brett are another one of my adorable 2013 couples and I had so much fun shooting their engagement session at The Stow House in Santa Barbara. The Stow House is a historic property with both Victorian and rustic charm! It also happens to be right next to the train museum and orange orchards which makes for even more pretty scenery to photograph! It's actually a wedding venue, but we had a ton of fun using it for the back drop of this engagement session!Vanessa + Brett are so very sweet together in every way. And Vanessa was all smiles during the shoot! You could just how excited she was to take some lovey dovey photos with her man! And Brett was so excited to see Vanessa happy! And I think he had fun in front of the camera too! I can't wait for their wedding later this fall... but for now, engagement pics!

I am so excited to share my last engagement session of 2012 which was with the beautiful Rachael and Sadie! Rachael and I go wayyyyyy back. Like back to the days of being in musical theater camp in elementary school. So when Rachael told me via facebook she was engaged and wanted me to photograph her big day I was thrilled! How fun for life to come full circle like that... to know some one as a little kid, and then get to tell their love story as an adult! I love that! And of course, I couldn't wait to meet Sadie!Rachael + Sadie came up to Santa Barbara for the day to have a fun little getaway from all their whirlwind wedding planning and let me document their love! I adored spending time getting to know them both better! These two are so perfect for each other-- they make each other laugh, they randomly break out into song and dance, they smile radiantly! I had so much fun exploring Santa Barbara with them, and I think they had a ton of fun being photographed, even though prior to the shoot they had told me they were a tad nervous! But seriously, they fooled me because they were all smiles and laughs throughout the shoot! The session was such a blast and I can't wait for their wedding this Fall! YAY!Check out the images below:

I am super excited to share the adorable Andrea + Andy's engagement session which took place at the Mission in Santa Barbara and at the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum! Andrea and Andy are the raddest couple ever! Besides the fact that their names match, they are super stylish, musicians (Andy rocks the bass and Andrea strums the ukelele), lovers of all things paleontology, oh and they have a kitty too! So you know I must LOVE them! ;) I am so excited that they are on the roster for 2013, and judging by how awesome the engagement turned out, I know that the wedding will be AMAZING!My favorite thing about this shoot was how we were able to make everything so personal, even though Andy had never even been to Santa Barbara before! But through a few key props-- like their instruments and favorite vinyls-- and a funky location (The Natural History Museum) we were able to infuse the shoot with Andrea + Andy's fun personalities! And of course, I kept the session extra fun and active to capture the genuine, giddy love they share! I could not be more pleased with how it all turned out... so without further ado... the pics!!!:

Renita and Alex are such a fun couple! Sexy. Spontaneous. Funny. Giddy. Madly in love! They have such a joy for life and for living it with each other, it's easy to be completely smitten with these two! I am so stoked to be shooting their wedding... in just one month!!! And I am so excited to share the photos from their RAD Santa Barbara engagement session! Renita and Alex drove up to Santa Barbara in Alex's '66 Dart, which made the perfect set for part of our shoot. We found a secret little turn-off in Goleta, and I had a blast shooting this smokin' couple with their hot car! And as the shoot progressed we made our way to the Coronado Butterfly Preserve for some more stunning shots. We also all got to witness the most incredible sunset of all time, and I was sure to incorporate all the magic mother nature gave us in the shoot!I have so much more I want to share about this incredible shoot! And there's a great story to tell about it! But for now it's hush-hush... you'll have to stay tuned for another blog post about it!

I am so excited to share these photos from Rita + Ryan's engagement session which we shot in Santa Barbara! Rita and I go way back! We went to high school together. And we kept in touch through...FACEBOOK! Duh! So Rita would follow my career and photos, like a true fan! When she got engaged to the wonderful Ryan, she contacted me immediately to see if I could photograph their 2013 wedding! Of course, I was excited and delighted! :)Rita and Ryan are so adorable together! They make each other laugh and smile so bright! And when Ryan holds Rita in his arms, she just melts. Which you will see in the photos below! These two are definitely a perfect pair, and I'm so stoked for what's to come for them! One thing that made this shoot extra fun, was that we went all around Downtown Santa Barbara-- from the Courthouse to Alice Keck Park, to Leadbetter Beach! We got to explore the beautiful town together, and Rita had just the perfect outfit and props to match each setting! Rita also wore some dazzling accessories, like a Tiffany's necklace and some hot Louboutin pumps-- both of which I learned were gifts from Ryan! SWOON! I love that Ryan adores pampering Rita! So sweet! :)

I absolutely LOVE engagement season! Such a fun time of year spent meeting potential clients, and getting to know my newly booked 2012 clients even better through engagement photo shoots! So exciting!I also have been having a ton of fun shooting in Santa Barbara, my new home! Even though Susie + Eric are getting married in LA, they were very excited about the opportunity to do their engagement pictures in Downtown Santa Barbara. Especially because Eric is an alumni of UCSB! We started off the session at the Santa Barbara Courthouse! I had heard that it was such a beautiful location... but I really was impressed at how awesome is! The architecture is fantastic and there are so many nooks and crannies with ridiculously pretty light! LOVED it!Of course, the best part of the session was just working with Susie + Eric! These two both have such a great sense of style, and they were so excited to be all gussied up and play super-model! Total dream clients! But beyond being ridiculously stylish and good looking, these two are just so sweet and fun to be around! They were always looking out for each other, and would just get lost in each others eyes! Sighhh. So adorable to witness! You can just tell that these two are super in love! And not only are they so sweet with each other, but they also bought me a hot chocolate to warm me up from a very cold, windy session! I am so lucky to have just moved to beautiful Santa Barbara! But I am even luckier to have already found some wonderful clients in my new area! Brooks + Samantha are completely awesome! Brooks went to the same high school as my husband (also where my husband now teaches) and his dad actually was our amazing realtor when we moved! So I was super duper thrilled when Brooks + Sam said they wanted me to photograph their wedding!I had so much fun hanging out with Brooks + Sam, hiking around the incredible Coronado Butterfly Preserve, talking about yoga and our cats, and taking some fabulous images!
