I am SOOOOO excited to finally be sharing this amazing sailboat elopement which took place in Santa Barbara, CA! Audrey + Erin are the cutest couple! They were originally planning a big, traditional wedding back in Arizona where they are from... but the stress of planning a big wedding just wasn't feeling right. So they decided to do something that did feel right, something that felt like them. They decided to elope here in sunny Santa Barbara, on the water... on a SAIL BOAT to be specific! I mean, how unique and cool is that, right??!! And they chose me to photograph this special day! What an honor and an exciting adventure to be a part of!Audrey infused the day with her personal style and a fun, preppy nautical theme. Her gorgeous white dress was ruffly and light and fun. She topped it off with a coral sweater for a preppy-chic look that I loved-- and also kept her warm when the cool ocean air crept in! Erin was also dressed pretty debonaire as well, and I adored his happy yellow bow tie! There were only two guests at the wedding-- two close friends-- and guess what? One of those friend's also did double duty as the officiant! We set sail thanks to Santa Barbara Sailing Center, and while in the beautiful harbor these two said their I-Dos. Afterward champagne was popped and we took some gorgeous photos while sailing on the sea... all as the sun dipped into the pacific ocean. A most perfect day!Thanks Leah for 2nd shooting! I am so excited to finally share Aileen + Matt's GORGEOUS Santa Barbara engagement session! We shot this engagement at The Courthouse and Leadbetter beach!Aileen + Matt have such love for each other, and I am so overjoyed to be working with them for their Montecito Country Club wedding! These two booked me via just a phone consultation since they are planning a destination wedding, as so many of my Santa Barbara couples are! Last weekend I had the honor of shooting Cindy + Bob's gorgeous wedding at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) located in Balboa Park, San Diego! It was such a lovely day and I could not adore Cindy, Bob and their family more! Everyone was so warm, welcoming, genuine and kind. It is such a joy to serve such wonderful people!It was also very cool to photograph a wedding in a Photography Museum... meta, right?! But awesome! I love modern/unique wedding venues such as this! And San Diego is a fun town! We had lots of time to roam gorgeous, historical Balboa Park for the bride + groom portraits. But my favorite part of the day was watching these two amazing families celebrate together. Parents and nieces and nephews getting down on the dance floor, touching toasts, and beautiful ceremony readings. And it's GLAMOUR!Ok yes, Glamour, like Boudoir can often have a cheezy 1980s, feathered and pastel pink backdrop sort of connotation. But y'all know I always keep it classy, modern and gorgeous! And making women look and feel glamorous has always been a signature of my brand from my weddings to boudoir to portraits. So it's a totally perfect genre for me to be working in!So what is a glamour shoot?A glamour shoot is a total girl's day out pampering experience, with gorgeous images at the heart of the experience. This is a chance to get some seriously hot (but you can be wearing fun clothes, not lingerie) photos of yourself and play supermodel for a day like you have always fantasized about. My team will give you a hair and make up make over for the shoot, we will work with you on styling your outfits, and then we will shoot you in 3-4 amazing looks. You will look so STUNNING in the photos you will want to share them with everyone..  This is about celebrating the woman you are and your inner beauty inside and out! And bonus, since your hair and make up done you can plan a night out on the town to continute to celebrate your awesomeness!How does this differ from your boudoir offerings?Of course I love boudoir and am still mega passionate about it! But glamour is a bit different. Firstly, you do not need to be in lingerie. You can wear beautiful clothes... We can go Calvin Klein with you in Jeans and a Tee-Shirt or have you in some fun flirty dresses, or put you in a gown! You could bring one lingerie look if it pleases you, but that's not necessary.Boudoir shoots will include detail shots of shoes, legs, stockings, and those beloved close ups that make you say "dang my ass looks fine!" But Glamour portraits are more focused on you not the details. Your face will be in all the photos!Who is a glamour shoot for?Glamour is truly for EVERY woman 16-106. If you are a woman, you probably love to feel beautiful or wish you could feel beautiful. A glamour shoot is about just that... MAKING YOU FEEL BEAUTIFUL!You can do your shoot solo, but you can also bring a girl-friend (or three or six), your sister, your mom or your teen daughter. Andrea and Andrew are two of the funnest people I know! We had tons of fun at their engagement in Santa Barbara, so of course I could not wait for the wedding! A+A had a lovely luncheon wedding at The Ayres hotel -- which is such a little jewel box of a hotel! Their bridal party was super energetic and I enjoyed how fun, easy going and light hearted this group was. Their ceremony was super personal and touching-- the mutual friend who unknowingly introduced these two performed the ceremony. It turns out A+A met when their friend was in the hospital and they both met in the waiting room while visiting him. Luckily their friend is doing great now and was able to perform that wonderful ceremony making it all come full circle!After the ceremony, these two made it their business to party. I can't say I've ever seen a couple dance so much at their wedding and have such a fun time! It was definitely fun to photograph!Thanks so much to Angel for 2nd Shooting! And now pics.....

I am so excited to share with y'all this gorgeous wedding which I shot last Saturday! You may remember the gorgeous couple, Devon + Ian, who were recently featured on my blog!Devon + Ian got ready at the stunning Luxe Hotel in Brentwood and then had their wedding at Mountaingate Country Club in Bel Air. Devon looked drop dead gorgeous in her Winnie Couture wedding gown and I an could not take his eyes off her all day! It was so sweet! Devon and Ian had a great big family and wonderful surrounding them with love all day, and it was so great to see so many people come to support them in their commitment and celebrate with them! Natalie Sofer planned the day beautifully, and the reception set up in hues of purple was just lovely.My favorite part of the day was just seeing how happy Devon + Ian looked and how they held each other during their first dance. It was so romantic and filled my heart with joy! My second part of the day was watching their adorable nephew's dance moves... Kaitlyn + Matt are one of my adorable June couples! I absolutely adored taking their engagement photos at UCSB, Kaitlyn's alma mater, and know their wedding is going to be even better!Kaitlyn + Matt are a great example of why I require my couples to do an engagement session. It's funny too because in our initial phone consultation, Kaitlyn had mentioned she'd be ok with not doing a session if I offered a package without one. Luckily when I told her engagement sessions are a MUST DO, she was on board! Because at the beginning of the shoot I could tell that these two, despite their gorgeousness and effortless style, were a bit nervous to be in front of the camera. However, I worked my magic and by their 2nd outfit they were carefree and posing confidently like super models! I was so glad to have the chance to work with them before the wedding, and know that the wedding photos will be easy-breezy now!The bonus? Now these two have some GORGEOUS images of themselves just having fun... in normal attire (versus wedding clothes) and just enjoying the beach at UCSB! I absolutely LOVE shooting "Bridals" photography! Unfortunately it's not very common here in Santa Barbara and a lot of California girls don't know about. It's a Southern Tradition!Well, lucky for me Kendall, a sweet and stylish Texas gal, moved to Santa Barbara and wanted some bridals photos taken! I jumped at the chance to do a fun session like this... and it left me wanting MORE! Of course, it's partly because Kendall is so fun, sweet, gorgeous stylish and all around amazing!But also... it's just plain fun to take pretty pictures with JUST the bride... stress free and not full of wedding day jitters. It's nice to have over an hour with just the bride and be able to play with locations, light, posing and not be on that tight wedding schedule. I could definitely get used to it! And when I think about it, brides why wouldn't you want this? A stress free session that allows for more FUN photos of you in your very expensive wedding dress! Instead of only getting to wear it once, BOOM, you get to wear it TWICE! And, if you would like, you can bring your man along and we'll get extra photos of both of y'all!Once you see these photos, I think you'll see why you NEED to get in that Southern spirit, baby, and book your bridal session STAT!

I am so thrilled to share Brianna + Jordan's gorgeous Montecito engagement session which we shot at San Ysidro Ranch (which is actually where they got engaged) and Butterfly Beach! Only the best for these two! ;)Brianna + Jordan were referred to me by my beloved 2012 bride, Renita... so OF COURSE these two are awesome! We had so much fun just playing around and having fun at their engagement, and I  think these pictures show that! Their love and infectious personalities jump out of the photos so much, you almost don't even notice the gorgeous Santa Barbara backdrops! And that's always my goal anyways, because engagement photos are about LOVE and not about the location! I am so excited to finally share this SUPER FUN engagement session with y'all! Miss Ashley came to me from my lovely bride Alicyn, so I knew right away she would be fun and creative! Boy was I right! Ashley wanted to do a styled engagement session and she wanted it to be a nod to all things British. Her fiance Jim and her have an obsession with Sherlock Holmes, and The Avengers particularly. So we crafted this shoot around that! It was fun using some of my favorite Santa Barbara backdrops in creative ways so they would fit the 1960s British Invasion theme! As some of you know I had the fantastic opportunity to go to Maui, Hawaii last month and stay with my good friend and fellow photographer, Anna Kim. Anna had me shoot a wedding for her while I was there and I cannot wait to share those gorgeous images soon! What is not to love about this gorgeous Santa Barbara engagement? Katie + Scott have so much style-- and it's probably my favorite style out there-- carefree, spirited, in LOVE. These two always look effortless and lovely, like they stepped out of a Free People or Anthropologie catalogue! It is definitely in their spirit-- these two love nature, cowboy boots, rustic charm and living in the moment. And their love is definitely as effortless as their style! I had SO much fun shooting their engagement session at the Coronado Butterfly Preserve here in Santa Barbara. I am SO excited to be sharing this gorgeous Santa Barbara elopement with y'all today! First of all, I LOVE elopements. Gorgeous, sweet, simple, relaxed and all about LOVE! Does it get any better than that? Well it does when you have said elopement surrounded by all the natural beauty Santa Barbara has to offer. And wait, it gets even better still when the people eloping are Kristine + Marcus.Kristine and Marcus are two of the sweetest people I could ever hope to meet! They are kind, friendly, caring and incredibly thoughtful. These two have been together for.ev.er. And I could not be more happy to have been the one to document these two finally tying the knot! It was important to Kristine's mom that they marry in the Year of the Dragon, so these two made sure to tie the knot before the new year! And as it turned out, not only was the sunny Santa Barbara in true form, it was also whale season. And GUESS WHAT? We all saw the whales were jumping off shore before their ceremony! Boudoir can be a lot of things. Some sessions are surprisingly modest whilst others are a bit more risque. One thing I'm always up for, if my client wants to go there, are some tasteful fine art nude shots. While it definitely is not for all, there is nothing more beautiful and sexy than ones birthday suit! I definitely think it can be nice to have a few classy nude shots to celebrate the hardwork you've put into your body to get it in shape, or to celebrate it's journey through womanhood. I had the amazing opportunity to photograph an event for wedding floral designers at Ranchos Dos Pueblos, here in Santa Barbara. First let me say that Ranchos Dos Pueblos is probably the most amazing wedding venue I have ever seen-- it hosts gorgeous rustic land, a lagoon, a gorgeous shabby chic barn and even a private beach! The scenery and charm is unbeatable. And honestly if I had known of it for my wedding, I probably would have demanded to get married there! Le Sigh...I was totally thrilled to get to see the venue all done up as if a real wedding had been set up there! All thanks to the Design Days workshop hosted by Florabundance. A dream team of designers, SB wedding vendors, and florists put this event together! Below are the credits!

Having a ceremony overlooking the PRIVATE beach would be breathtaking! Oh and by the way, dolphins like to hang off shore! Pretty awesome! You could also do cocktail hour by the beach after the ceremony to get a bit more time to soak in the beauty! String guitar, passed hors d'oeuvres, a sea breeze. Perfection! Or you could face your ceremony toward the lagoon! Seriously, there is pretty in every single direction! Going back towards the barn, there are so many charming details... including these wagon wheel chandeliers which hang from the trees! The property boasts about a thousand different photo opps! Railroad bridge? Check! Lagoon? Check! There's that railroad... amazing! The private beach is soooooooo gorgeous! Everything a private beach should be! Then there's the barn. Shabby chic to perfection. You will fall in love with the idea of having your reception in here! Yes a rustic barn with crystal chandeliers! Rustic casual elegance beyond belief. Hay bushel seating? Why not? Or provide cute vintage seating for your guests! ADORABLE! When in a barn, you must do dinner at a long farmhouse dining table, right?! Vibrant floral details POP against all that rustic wood! So if you are stuck between beach wedding or rustic chic... never fear! YOU CAN HAVE BOTH! Oh and the barn at night looks pretty spectacular too! I mean, REALLY! GORGEOUS!
