Sunstone Villa, Santa Ynez Wedding Photographer | Katie + Scott

Last Saturday, I photographed an absolutely beautiful wedding at one of my favorite wedding venues here in Santa Barbara-- The Sunstone Villa. I shoot here a lot, and it never gets old because it is such a STUNNING location! But the truth is while Saturday's wedding was at a beautiful venue with beautiful details, what truly made the day gorgeous was the newlyweds-- Katie + Scott! I've adored Katie + Scott since I met them early this year. They are such kind, genuine, generous, and all wonderful people. Their love is tender and sweet and it is just a joy to document the bond they share. They are also just super cool and fun to hang out with, so of course shooting their day was a blast!  My favorite parts of the day were the sweet First Look, the words of love and wisdom their mothers shared during their ceremony, and the tears of joy that flowed during the toasts! Oh wait, no, I lied... actually  my most favorite part of the day was when the little ringbearers and nephews of Scott very enthusiastically danced Gangnam Style! It was so cute I almost melted! heheheAnyways, this day was too beautiful for words and I should just stop talking about it and show you the pictures! Because, not to toot my own horn or anything, but they are awful purdy!!! But before I can share the pictures I must thank some of the amazing vendors that came together to make this day magic-- Amazing Day Events coordinated to perfection, my homeboy Sam Friedman rocked it on video once again, Passion Flowers, +  DJ Zeke. Also many thanks to Robert for being an awesome 2nd shooter for me that day!You can also view a slide show with even more pictures by CLICKING HERE!

Sunstone Winery Wedding | Jenny + Sam

Jenny + Sam had a beautiful and intimate wedding at Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez over the Labor Day weekend. Surrounded by their closest family and friends they pledged to spend their lives together. And they did it their way. Being filmmakers, they started their ceremony with a hilarious 10 minute movie they made about their love story. Kinda like "When Harry Met Sally" with a twist. They had the mutual close friend who introduced them to each other perform their ceremony which was another unique touch. I love when couples make their ceremonies about their story and their love, and that's just what Jenny + Sam did. As soon as  the ceremony ended the crowd partied hard. Jenny + Sam must be foodies, as the delicious tapas style food stations by Seasons Catering were scrumptious and the cupcakes by my favorite, Enjoy Cupcakes were also right on point! There were also some pee-your-pants-funny toasts (could we expect anything less from this group of writers + filmmakers?!) and some dance moves on the floor that I am pretty sure would make Michael Jackson jealous! And while I loved it all, my personal favorite part of the day was sneaking off to the vineyards after the ceremony to get some romantic shots in the last bit of magic hour! Jenny + Sam were so giddy but also just so comfortable in each others arms. It was like they were finally able to breathe and know, it's now official! The love that's in those vineyard photos is just my favorite! And the kind of thing that makes me want to always shoot weddings! Pure love! Sigh!

So check out the wedding below... or to see more enjoy the slideshow HERE! Also major thanks to Kelsey for 2nd shooting! ;)

Hope Ranch, Santa Barbara Wedding | Lauren + Igor

Lauren + Igor! I can't say enough about this super duper sweet couple! It is definitely bittersweet to be blogging their gorgeous wedding which took place here in Santa Barbara at the Hope Ranch Riding Club, because this truly means their wedding is over and I won't be exchanging emails with them on a regulars basis. Lauren and Igor are just so sweet, kind and generous and they never felt like clients-- they always felt like friends! Their day turned out so gorgeous and went so smoothly, which made me so happy for them!Lauren and Igor have tons of friends and family. People flew from 6 continents to attend this wedding which really speaks volumes about the kind of people Lauren and Igor are! Toward the end of the reception, they opened the mic up for anyone who wanted to toast and so many of their guests stood up to tell funny and lovely stories about these two and to wish them well. It was moving to see how loved they are by so many people, and the positive impact they've made on their friends + families lives. But it didn't surprise me because like I said Lauren and Igor really are such special people! Their whole wedding day was centered around intimacy and making sure all who came to celebrate had a fun time and felt valued. They even included their guests in their ceremony by passing their rings for a "ring warming."I could go on and on about these two and their day but let's face it-- you want to see pictures! So we're almost there! But I do want to especially thank Meg West for planning the day so perfectly and my second shooter Kelsey for being my wingwoman...NOW photos! Scroll below and also don't forget to CLICK HERE for a slide show with even more sweet moments! Enjoy!

Frida Kahlo Wedding Inspiration at Ranchos Dos Pueblos

I am SO beyond excited to share this Frida Kahlo Wedding Inspiration shoot, set at Ranchos Does Pueblos, with you today! The shoot was recently featured on Green Wedding Shoes and has since been spotted all over Pinterest, so if it looks familiar now you know why! This shoot was a labor of love created between myself and Nicole of Hint of Chic. Nicole is an amazing wedding planner + designer here in Santa Barbara, and soon after meeting we became fast friends. We knew we wanted to collaborate on a shoot and we wanted it to take place at one of our favorite Santa Barbara venues-- Ranchos Dos Pueblos.  Always being inspired by painters, I suggested a Frida Kahlo theme and Nicole was right there with me! We conceptualized the shoot together, but what Nicole designed ended up being even MORE than everything I had envisioned in my head! Every detail was thought through,  and all the vibrant colors were to die for! I could not have been more pleased by what was created and what was captured here! I hope this shoot will inspire brides, and help them think outside that typical wedding box! Check out the gorgeous images below!VENDOR CREDITS:planner, designer, stylist, florist + concept: Nicole Chapman of Hint of Chic // concept + photography: Ashleigh Taylor Photography // location: Dos Pueblos Ranch, triciafountaine@gmail.com // paper goods: JP Stationery // flowers donated by: Florabundance // bride’s dress: La Soie Bridal, Santa Barbara // bride’s necklace: Elsa Mora // bride’s rings: Calla Gold Jewelry // bride’s earrings + wrap: Anthropologie // hair + make-up: Page Berse, Absolutely Fabulous…Glamour on the Go! // rentals: Vintage Vignettes, triciafountaine@gmail.com and Town and Country Event Rentals // china: Anthropologie // glassware+chargers: Pier One Imports // linens: La Tavola // mexican loteria card cookies: Stone House Oven // models: Brandi Wolff + Nicholls Melancon

Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston MA Wedding | Mandi + Dan

Mandi and Dan had a gorgeous wedding at the historic Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel in Boston MA. Mandi had dreamed of getting married here since she was a little girl, and I can instantly see why! The hotel is gorgeous with beautiful turn of the century architecture and detail. It is also located in Boston's famed Copley Square so there are lots of fun photo opportunities near by like The Boston Public Library, and the Trinity Church. Mandi is from Boston originally but she also met Dan in the city, over 10 years ago, when they were both students at Boston University. So it's fitting that they chose this lovely spot to get married! And, oh, I should probably mention that Mandi is my best friend in the whole wide world! So this day had extra special meaning. I just adore her and Dan, and in the 6 years I have known them I have seen their relationship only grow stronger and better (and it was already fantastic when I met them)! Dan is just about the nicest guy in the whole world, and when he is near Mandi he can't help but radiate joy. You'd think these two had just met-- but they are just so lucky to be in a permanent state of puppy love! The day was pure celebratory. Two families, and tons friends who have gotten to know each other quite well over the last 10 years, finally got to chance to celebrate Mandi + Dan making it official! And it was a party like no other!Another thing I should mention is I actually also played the role of BRIDESMAID on this special day! Yes, I was a bridesmaid-slash-photographer! But I definitely could not have made that work without the very talented Lexi of Lexi Photography who worked as my associate that day, photographing lead on parts I could not photograph, and playing 2nd shooter when I was able to be in control. Thanks so much Lexi for helping to make my BFF's day and pics turn out fab!Okay so enough chatting, let's look at some pictures! My faves are below but you will find even more if you CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE SLIDESHOW!

Sunstone Villa Wedding Photography | Ashley + Lance

I am SO excited to finally share Ashley + Lance's absolutely, jaw-droppingly GORGEOUS wedding which took place at The Sunstone Villa in Santa Ynez a couple weeks ago! Ashley + Lance are the cutest, sweetest couple with equally sweet family and friends to match! Their big bridal party was so fun to work with, and their parents were just lovely. Ashley's fabulous mom Rosanne designed the whole event, and wow does she have a good eye! Every detail was taken care of-- from a beautiful and unique memorial table, to an over the top bellini station at cocktail hour, to vintage furniture vignettes and crystal chandeliers hanging from the trees. All of Ashley's wedding visions were brought to life, and Rosanne made sure no detail was left untouched! The toasts were funny and heartfelt, the scenery was breathtaking (as ALWAYS at Sunstone Winery),  the food (by Mama's Meatballs) was delicious, and the company was fabulous. What more could you ask for at a wedding?! And yet, what put the whole thing over the top for me was Ashley's sister Rheanne just singing her heart at to Adele's "One + Only" during the first dance, and Ashley + Lance just starry-eyed in love as they swayed on the dance floor. The most perfect cherry on top of a crazy good day. Love! Thanks to Kelsey for 2nd shooting, I could not have handled all the details and elements of the day without you! And with an event of this magnitude and amazing details, I definitely have to credit all the amazing vendors!VENDOR CREDITS

Married | C + T

As I gear up for another wedding tomorrow, I can't help but be excited to share C + T's lovely wedding which took place last Saturday! C + T are such kind and generous people and I was very honored to be the one to document the big day! C looked gorgeous-- like a rose-- in her ruffled yet architectural gown, and T looked so handsome! These two were smiling ear to ear all day and you just could feel how excited and happy they were to be getting married! Their parents were equally excited and I loved witnessing these two families become one. The most touching moment of the day came during T's mom's toast when she said she had prayed for her son to find a woman like C to marry and the day she met C she knew all her prayers were answered! So sweet! What a warm welcome to the family! :)Thanks to Angel for 2nd shooting! Please check out the lovely images below, and CLICK HERE to watch the SLIDESHOW if you want to see even more! Enjoy! And stay tuned for a lot more weddings! ;)

Gabrielle Vineyard + Collection, Napa Wedding Photography | Brianna + Jordan

I am so so excited to share this stunning Napa, California vineyard wedding with y'all today! Remember the adorable Brianna + Jordan? Well, this pair recently wed at the gorgeous Gabrielle Collection Vineyard in Napa. This venue is very exclusive, only taking on a few private events a year! And oh my were these two lucky to snag it! Besides being set in the rolling hills of  Napa, the property grounds of Gabrielle Vineyard are just lovely-- featuring lavender fields, vineyards, citrus trees, a lake, and a manicured garden. I can't think of a more beautiful place for a wedding and I was so lucky to photograph it!Brianna + Jordan's wedding was as amazing as these two. From their dog Chauncey being a part of the Wedding Party, to their AMAZING personalized vows (in which Brianna delivered the best line I've ever heard-- "loving you is like finding money in a pair of pants!"), to the delicious gourmet dinner, to the very funny and heartfelt toasts delivered by their parents and friends... everything was just so full of joy and love. It was not hard to just beam from ear to ear while photographing their day! I am so lucky to have such fun, loving and generous clients like them... but really could I expect anything less since they were a referral from my darlings Alex + Renita?!There is lots to see from this great wedding so please scroll down! Also major thanks to Alex for being a great 2nd shooter! Oh, and if you feel called to see **even more** photos from this affair, please watch the SLIDESHOW HERE.

How ADORABLE is this shot of Jordan's dog, Chauncey, getting ready??!!

Romantic Outdoor Wedding | Kaitlyn + Matt

I am so excited to share the wedding photos from Kaitlyn + Matt's big day! These two had the most beautiful wedding, full of charming and romantic details and surrounded by family and friends! The day started with everyone getting ready at the Westlake Village Inn. I was floored by Kaitlyn's stunning lace gown, and all her little accessories-- from a gorgeous lace veil, to her adorable shoes, to her Chanel perfume and her sweet Mr. + Mrs. heart shaped ring holder. Every detail was thought through. These two had an intimate First Look and then fun with their large bridal party before heading to the church to get married! Afterwards, we all headed over to the beautiful Malibou Lake and Mountain Club for more fun pictures, and of course partying! The reception-- just like the getting ready-- had many cute details including the most soft and romantic floral arrangements, ribbon wrapped table numbers and a donut bar for dessert! But the best part of the day was the heartfelt toasts and seeing just how happy Kaitlyn and Matt were to call each other "husband" and "wife" for the first time!Thank you to Erin for 2nd shooting! Now check out the gorgeous photos below! You can also see the SLIDESHOW HERE!

I just LOVE this moment when Kaitlyn saw her daddy for the first time! ::heartmelt::

Santa Barbara Sailboat Elopement | Audrey + Erin

I am SOOOOO excited to finally be sharing this amazing sailboat elopement which took place in Santa Barbara, CA! Audrey + Erin are the cutest couple! They were originally planning a big, traditional wedding back in Arizona where they are from... but the stress of planning a big wedding just wasn't feeling right. So they decided to do something that did feel right, something that felt like them. They decided to elope here in sunny Santa Barbara, on the water... on a SAIL BOAT to be specific! I mean, how unique and cool is that, right??!! And they chose me to photograph this special day! What an honor and an exciting adventure to be a part of!Audrey infused the day with her personal style and a fun, preppy nautical theme. Her gorgeous white dress was ruffly and light and fun. She topped it off with a coral sweater for a preppy-chic look that I loved-- and also kept her warm when the cool ocean air crept in! Erin was also dressed pretty debonaire as well, and I adored his happy yellow bow tie! There were only two guests at the wedding-- two close friends-- and guess what? One of those friend's also did double duty as the officiant! We set sail thanks to Santa Barbara Sailing Center, and while in the beautiful harbor these two said their I-Dos. Afterward champagne was popped and we took some gorgeous photos while sailing on the sea... all as the sun dipped into the pacific ocean. A most perfect day! Thanks Leah for 2nd shooting! And thanks to Audrey + Erin for trusting me to capture you sailboat wedding! It was fabulous! MOPA, Balboa Park, San Diego Wedding | Cindy + Bob

Last weekend I had the honor of shooting Cindy + Bob's gorgeous wedding at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) located in Balboa Park, San Diego! It was such a lovely day and I could not adore Cindy, Bob and their family more! Everyone was so warm, welcoming, genuine and kind. It is such a joy to serve such wonderful people! It was also very cool to photograph a wedding in a Photography Museum... meta, right?! But awesome! I love modern/unique wedding venues such as this! And San Diego is a fun town! We had lots of time to roam gorgeous, historical Balboa Park for the bride + groom portraits. But my favorite part of the day was watching these two amazing families celebrate together. Parents and nieces and nephews getting down on the dance floor, touching toasts, and beautiful ceremony readings. It was a great celebration of love and family and an honor to be a part of it!Thanks to Amanda for 2nd shooting.... and now, pictures!!

Married | Andrea + Andrew

Andrea and Andrew are two of the funnest people I know! We had tons of fun at their engagement in Santa Barbara, so of course I could not wait for the wedding! A+A had a lovely luncheon wedding at The Ayres hotel -- which is such a little jewel box of a hotel! Their bridal party was super energetic and I enjoyed how fun, easy going and light hearted this group was. Their ceremony was super personal and touching-- the mutual friend who unknowingly introduced these two performed the ceremony. It turns out A+A met when their friend was in the hospital and they both met in the waiting room while visiting him. Luckily their friend is doing great now and was able to perform that wonderful ceremony making it all come full circle! After the ceremony, these two made it their business to party. I can't say I've ever seen a couple dance so much at their wedding and have such a fun time! It was definitely fun to photograph! Thanks so much to Angel for 2nd Shooting! Santa Barbara Bridals Photography | Kendall

I absolutely LOVE shooting "Bridals" photography! Unfortunately it's not very common here in Santa Barbara and a lot of California girls don't know about. It's a Southern Tradition!Well, lucky for me Kendall, a sweet and stylish Texas gal, moved to Santa Barbara and wanted some bridals photos taken! I jumped at the chance to do a fun session like this... and it left me wanting MORE! Of course, it's partly because Kendall is so fun, sweet, gorgeous stylish and all around amazing! But also... it's just plain fun to take pretty pictures with JUST the bride... stress free and not full of wedding day jitters. It's nice to have over an hour with just the bride and be able to play with locations, light, posing and not be on that tight wedding schedule. I could definitely get used to it! And when I think about it, brides why wouldn't you want this? A stress free session that allows for more FUN photos of you in your very expensive wedding dress! Instead of only getting to wear it once, BOOM, you get to wear it TWICE! And, if you would like, you can bring your man along and we'll get extra photos of both of y'all!Once you see these photos, I think you'll see why you NEED to get in that Southern spirit, baby, and book your bridal session STAT!

Is that not just GORGEOUS? If you feel like a bridal or day after session would be fun, contact me!

They are kind, friendly, caring and incredibly thoughtful. These two have been together for.ev.er. And I could not be more happy to have been the one to document these two finally tying the knot! It was important to Kristine's mom that they marry in the Year of the Dragon, so these two made sure to tie the knot before the new year! And as it turned out, not only was the sunny Santa Barbara in true form, it was also whale season. And GUESS WHAT? We all saw the whales were jumping off shore before their ceremony! So special and beautiful! Something I'll never forget, and I hope they won't either!Check out their gorgeous elopement at The Douglas Family Preserve below:

Ranchos Dos Pueblos Wedding Photographer | Venue Spotlight

I had the amazing opportunity to photograph an event for wedding floral designers at Ranchos Dos Pueblos, here in Santa Barbara. First let me say that Ranchos Dos Pueblos is probably the most amazing wedding venue I have ever seen-- it hosts gorgeous rustic land, a lagoon, a gorgeous shabby chic barn and even a private beach! The scenery and charm is unbeatable. And honestly if I had known of it for my wedding, I probably would have demanded to get married there! Le Sigh...I was totally thrilled to get to see the venue all done up as if a real wedding had been set up there! All thanks to the Design Days workshop hosted by Florabundance. A dream team of designers, SB wedding vendors, and florists put this event together! Below are the credits!

If you think you'd like to check out Ranchos Dos Pueblos for your wedding venue, you can email to make an appointment and find it here:

Dos Pueblos Ranch
Goleta, CA 93117
... And if you do get married here, don't forget to hire me as your photographer! ;)

Having a ceremony overlooking the PRIVATE beach would be breathtaking! Oh and by the way, dolphins like to hang off shore! Pretty awesome! You could also do cocktail hour by the beach after the ceremony to get a bit more time to soak in the beauty! String guitar, passed hors d'oeuvres, a sea breeze. Perfection! Or you could face your ceremony toward the lagoon! Seriously, there is pretty in every single direction! Going back towards the barn, there are so many charming details... including these wagon wheel chandeliers which hang from the trees! The property boasts about a thousand different photo opps! Railroad bridge? Check! Lagoon? Check! There's that railroad... amazing! The private beach is soooooooo gorgeous! Everything a private beach should be! Then there's the barn. Shabby chic to perfection. You will fall in love with the idea of having your reception in here! Yes a rustic barn with crystal chandeliers! Rustic casual elegance beyond belief. Hay bushel seating? Why not? Or provide cute vintage seating for your guests! ADORABLE! When in a barn, you must do dinner at a long farmhouse dining table, right?! Vibrant floral details POP against all that rustic wood! So if you are stuck between beach wedding or rustic chic... never fear! YOU CAN HAVE BOTH! Oh and the barn at night looks pretty spectacular too! I mean, REALLY! GORGEOUS!

Santa Barbara Roadtrip Elopement | Jessica + Norm

Jessica found me in December while reading Style Me Pretty  and she immediately contacted me about photographing her 12-12-12 Santa Barbara elopement to the love her life, Norm. She told me that almost a year earlier Norm had been diagnosed with grade 4 brain cancer, and everything in their lives changed. They were engaged, but of course with the news wedding plans got put on the back burner. Norm's health was everybody's #1 concern, as it should be! But all these two wanted was to get married. They are madly in love. Soul mates. The truest of companions. So when Norm thankfully got some good news from the doctor and was given the okay to take a small trip for a few days, they knew what they wanted to do.They took a roadtrip from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara to elope! They drove Norm's restored classic 1960's VW Bus all the way. They would marry in Santa Barbara, and then honeymoon as they drove up the central coast! How romantic! And that's where I came in... to photograph the big day! I could not have been more honored! Because Norm + Jess aren't that familiar with Santa Barbara, I also kinda helped plan the whole day-- choosing the locations for the ceremony and portraits, styling their sweetheart table,  and giving some vendor recommendations! It was so fun helping to create the perfect day for such a special pair!I was honored to see their elopement on Style Me Pretty 10 days ago... and decided that Valentine's Day would be the  perfect day to share their story on my own blog. Because if ever there was a STRONG love that should inspire lovers and dreamers everywhere, it is the story of Jessica + Norm. Please check out the images, and read how you can help at the bottom of this post. Thanks! The two had their ceremony on Refugio Beach... and because a storm was looming, they had the beach all to themselves!

The ceremony was touching beyond words! Jessica was sooooo happy!! And so was Norm! Definitely an emotional moment!! And so full of love!!! After the ceremony we enjoyed the beauty of the beach!! Jessica you are gorgeous!!! Dancing on the beach... so romantic!! The roadtrip begins here!! LOVE!!! How cute is the bus?!!! We wanted to spend some time in those gorgeous rolling hills of Santa Barbara! GORGEOUS!! Jessica's bouquet and floral headpiece was by Simply Bouquets! BEAUTY!! I styled and put together a little reception table for them! It turned out so sweet! Cake is by Crushcakes and linens are La Tavola. How can you not just ADORE these two?!! Back to the bus we go! Just Married!!! There they go off on their roadtrip honeymoon adventure! LOVE! If you would like to know more about Norm's story please check out his blog. You can also help Jessica + Norm by donating to help pay off Norm's medical bills. Despite having good health insurance the medical bills have added up... every little bit helps! Thank you!!
