On Sunday I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Frances + Jared's wedding at the Sherman Library and Gardens. I had never done a wedding at Sherman Library before, but let me just say it is a fantastic venue! There is so much charm there with it's Spanish architecture. And they have an absolutely amazing succulent garden! So cute! The venue fit Frances + Jared's style perfectly as well-- charming, stylish, but also casual and comfy!Their wedding day started off so fun and relaxed. Frances got ready at home with her sister/maid-of honor Whitney (who's wedding I will also be photographing in November) and their mother. The three gals laughed as they got all made up, and also found some time to watch the Sex and the City movie! Love it!!! As the Kate Middleton inspired veil was being pinned into Frances' hair, Whitney squealed and helped make everything look perfect. She said she was fulfilling her "Pippa duties!" Also love!The First Look was a sweet moment! Jared was just floored to see Frances, but how could he not be? She looked STUNNING in her beyond fabulous dress! Their ceremony was beautiful with some sweet words by the Rabbi. I especially loved the story he told about their first date... the story that totally explains why these two were meant to be. You see, on their first date Jared accidentally knocked over and spilled the wine on the table. But Frances quickly told him it was all okay because all night she had been fearing that she might knock over and spill the wine. These two have the same cute quirks and it's why these two just get each other. As the Rabbi said it was clearly B'shert (a Jewish term for "meant to be") and I have to agree!Thanks so much to Ami for shooting this with me! And now... onto the photos!

Can we talk about how FIERCE that dress is?! LOVE!!! But that smile on Frances below?? That's even FIERCER!!!

I am so in LOVE with Skylar + AJ! They are an adorable couple who found me through my husband. The hubs and Skylar were friends way back in the day and have kept in touch over the years via facebook. That's how Skylar learned of my work, and I was so thrilled when she emailed me a few months ago asking me to shoot her wedding!! She told me all about her fiance AJ and their plans for a hip and relaxed wedding at AJ's parents home in San Diego! She even shared with me the cutest power point presentation she made filled with wedding ideas. And every idea was SUPER FABULOUS!  I knew we were a match right away!The engagement session was the first opportunity we had to actually meet in person. It used to make me nervous to first meet a couple at an engagement shoot, but  this year over 50% of my clients have booked me on the spot via email, so I'm getting pretty used to it. The thing is, I become friends with so many of my clients via email and facebook these days, that when the session comes around it feels like we're old friends.  Meeting Skylar + AJ was no different, it was as if we'd been friends for a long time! And it was super easy to jump right into the session! I LOVE that they chose The Lab in Costa Mesa as the backdrop for the engagement photos. The fun, vibrant, funky vibe fits them and their style so well! And Skylar brought along the cutest outfits ever, and some adorbs Tory Burch wedges. LOVE!

I mean seriously, how cute are these two?!?! Looking at these sunny photos just makes me SMILE!!!!

I love The Lab because there is always something funky and new to see. This time? A record store in a vintage trailer. Definitely made for some RAD photos!

It's kinda funny. Life seemed to be against everything about Christina & Syl's engagement session with me. First, we had to cancel and reschedule the shoot TWICE due to weather. Then as I was preparing to blog the pictures I found about my grandma. UGH. Yeah so needless to say I feel pretty terrible that it has taken sooooo long to get these pictures taken and blogged. But we did it. We conquered fate so to speak. Because I am blogging these pics now and there ain't a-nothin' nobody can do about it. ;)Christina emailed me on my birthday last year inquiring about info for her wedding. After a few emails it was clear to me that she was totally awesome, so when she booked me online without even meeting me I was thrilled! We have become friends online and through facebook. But I actually had never met her or her fiance Syl in person. When we met at the Lab a few Saturdays ago,  I was sooo over joyed! She was everything I thought she'd be and more-- cute, funny, bubbly, bright! She has the best laugh and she laughs hard just like me! And Syl is just wonderful too. He reminds me a bit of AJ, very chill and low-key, but totally funny and sweet and so caring. He was so attentive to Christina the whole shoot and so tender with her! I just LOVE it!! I cannot wait for their wedding later this year in San Diego! I know its going to be a BLAST!!!Christina & Syl picked the most awesome spot for our session-- The Lab in Costa Mesa, which is a mall, or technically speaking an “Anti-Mall,” that is home to a bunch of trendy shops. The Lab is very quirky and fun!
