So much BIG STUFF has happened since I moved to Santa Barbara in December 2011. But this year has been bigger than my wildest dreams! Amongst a crazy busy/good wedding season, I watched my boudoir and glamour photography just blossom. Truth be told there is no one doing boudoir and glam the way I do boudoir/glam here in Santa Barbara... or Ventura or SLO as a matter of fact! The feedback from clients and the community has been incredible. Pretty much every inquiry I received starts with "I want to do a shoot with you because your work is amazing and the best I've seen"... It's humbling beyond words. And is also a dream come true. Because while I love shooting weddings, I equally love to photograph women. To help them to feel beautiful. confident and amazing in their own skin. To show women just how beautiful they can be.So my make up artist friend Page of Absolutely Fabulous and I secured a fabulous studio space in downtown Santa Barbara. It is a space dedicated to all things feminine-- hair, make up , beauty, boudoir, glam, photography, girl power. Mother -Daughter glamour shoots are always a BLAST! Seriously this is the perfect gift for all moms-- whether you give it to your wife, sister, close friend, or your own mom-- it's guaranteed to be  unique, memorable and much appreciated! Moms work so hard for their families and to make ends meet. Seriously, I can't think of one mom I know who doesn't put her family before herself constantly! And a Glamour photoshoot is great time to make mom the star for a day! She can relax and actually be pampered-- because really isn't getting your hair and make up professionally done the ultimate treat! Then she gets to be made to feel like a supermodel in front of the camera, getting photos with the gal he loves most (her daughter) and also a few solo shots! How fun! It's always so cute to me how much the moms I shoot go crazy for the photos of themselves with their daughter, and radiate with joy over the gorgeous solo daughter shots... but practically tear up with happiness at their own solo shots-- because it reminds her of the sexy woman she is and reminds her that she is beautiful (which is easy to forget when you are taking care of everyone else before yourself). These shoots are some of my favorites for this reason, and I am excited to share an example from an extra special one here!

Another week, another glamour shoot to share! Shariane is one wickedly stylish lady-- she has a closet even Carrie Bradshaw would envy! And every outfit she whipped out for this shoot seemed more fabulous than the last! But besides having a magnificent wardrobe, Shariane has an amazing heart and spirit! Is there anything more fun that a make over/glamour photo shoot? I think not! It is essentially getting primped and pampered and playing dress up... as an adult! Oh and you get photos after as a reminder of the whole fun experience and how fabulous you are! If there is anything better than that please let me know! As far as I can tell, the only thing that might come close would be eating really great sushi while watching the sunset in Hawaii ;)Anyways, earlier this year I got to photograph a glamour session for the gorgeous Oriana! Oriana is an actress in NYC and she is such a beautiful person inside + out! She moves like a trained dancer, and has a smile that just radiates joy and love! And it's GLAMOUR!Ok yes, Glamour, like Boudoir can often have a cheezy 1980s, feathered and pastel pink backdrop sort of connotation. But y'all know I always keep it classy, modern and gorgeous! And making women look and feel glamorous has always been a signature of my brand from my weddings to boudoir to portraits. So it's a totally perfect genre for me to be working in!So what is a glamour shoot?A glamour shoot is a total girl's day out pampering experience, with gorgeous images at the heart of the experience. This is a chance to get some seriously hot (but you can be wearing fun clothes, not lingerie) photos of yourself and play supermodel for a day like you have always fantasized about. My team will give you a hair and make up make over for the shoot, we will work with you on styling your outfits, and then we will shoot you in 3-4 amazing looks. You will look so STUNNING in the photos you will want to share them with everyone..  This is about celebrating the woman you are and your inner beauty inside and out! And bonus, since your hair and make up done you can plan a night out on the town to continute to celebrate your awesomeness!How does this differ from your boudoir offerings?Of course I love boudoir and am still mega passionate about it! But glamour is a bit different. Firstly, you do not need to be in lingerie. You can wear beautiful clothes... We can go Calvin Klein with you in Jeans and a Tee-Shirt or have you in some fun flirty dresses, or put you in a gown! You could bring one lingerie look if it pleases you, but that's not necessary.Boudoir shoots will include detail shots of shoes, legs, stockings, and those beloved close ups that make you say "dang my ass looks fine!" But Glamour portraits are more focused on you not the details. Your face will be in all the photos!Who is a glamour shoot for?Glamour is truly for EVERY woman 16-106. If you are a woman, you probably love to feel beautiful or wish you could feel beautiful. A glamour shoot is about just that... MAKING YOU FEEL BEAUTIFUL!You can do your shoot solo, but you can also bring a girl-friend (or three or six), your sister, your mom or your teen daughter.
