Jennifer booked me a LONG time ago. So for months we chatted  via email, got to know each other a bit and anticipated our session! When the day finally came it was a bit surreal-- is this finally happening?!  Jennifer was so sweet and so fun to hang out with that morning! It was honestly like being with an old friend! We laughed, talked weddings, and just had FUN! Which honestly is really what boudoir photography is all about-- having fun & celebrating your life!I LOVED that Jennifer put so much thought into the session and into the outfits she chose! She brought a veil (which I always love), an Alice In Wonderland costume because she is having an Alice themed wedding, and some other sexy outfits! It was good times! Just look how fun the session was!

I am a natural light photographer primarily. Especially when it comes to portraits. Unfortunately the hotel messed up and gave Jennifer a room with no windows! At first I was all "oh dear!" But like any good photographer, I had a solution to the problem. I whipped out my flash, set it manually, and used the walls to bounce the light to make it flattering! Yep, I rocked it out! That's the life of a photographer, sometimes you gotta roll with the punches! And the results turned out awesome! Isn't Jennifer hot?!!

Did I mention I LOVE boudoir season?! As summer brides prep for their weddings, I tend to get more & more boudoir bookings. Bride's want to give their hubby-to-be a special little something. A truly personal gift. But what I love about boudoir photography is that even though brides may initially think the session is for their man, they get to realize boudoir pictures are truly a celebration of themselves! Yep, I think boudoir photography celebrates your womanhood, your femininity,  and yes your sexy. And sexiness comes from being who you are and owning it! And that's what I love...seeing my fab clients go from being shy and nervous at the very start of the session to ending the session being completely confident and rocking who they are.My afternoon with Melissa was amazing-- it was everything I love about doing boudoir. I met an amazing, gorgeous, fun, hilarious woman! She gave this session her all, and it was awesome! She rocked my camera. As we laughed and talked and became friends, she let all the sides to her personality shine. She was owning everything that makes her Melissa. And it was fabulous, as evidenced by these amazing pictures!! Seriously Melissa, I love everything about you and am so glad to have met you and now be able to call you my friend! :)

Last fall I met with Dawn at Starbucks, and when she walked in I knew I liked her. I was wearing a pink, purple and white dress that day and she had the EXACT same colors on her outfit as well. It was like, "Holla! Girl, you are super fierce, we will definitely work well together!" And so we hit it off immediately and she booked me on the spot ;) But the boudoir session wasn't going to be until it was closer to her wedding-- nearly 6 months away!! So I patiently waited. Dawn was so very supportive & sweet in the meantime. She left awesome blog comments, or would even email me just to say hey or compliment me on a new aspect of the business! :) I love it!

So what I am saying is I have loved this girl for quite some time now and had been anxiously awaiting our boudoir session! Then the day was finally here and things were even better than I could have imagined. Dawn brought a TON of adorable outfits and accessories and props!!! That makes me very happy and I always encourage my clients to do this! It just adds so much polish to a session ;) Then Dawn even had her hair stylist come and hang out, change up her hair and even act as a wardrobe consultant! ;) AMAZING! I felt like we were on a shoot for Vogue or something! So needless to say this shoot was awesome in every single way!

Thank you soooo much Dawn for all your support & encouragement over the last year! And thank you for rocking it and being fabulous and trusting me to take these very special pictures! I know your man is gonna FLIP when he sees them!! :)

Yay! It's boudoir season and I love it! Yep, all the gals with spring & summer weddings are getting their pics done NOW! And it's awesome! So if you are getting married soon, what are you waiting for?!Boudoir photography is so much fun for me! I love empowering women and making them feel like super models. I truly believe that every woman has a little Tyra Banks/Heidi Klum living inside her just itching to come out! And I like helping women who feel shy, or at times insecure, to come out of their shell and see themselves for how gorgeous they really are! And for the girls that come to me already pretty confident and ready to work it out, I love that too! I love documenting their confidence! Yep, I just love, love, love boudoir and wish I could do a session every week! Last week I had the pleasure of shooting this sexy lady at the fabulous Hotel Amarano in Burbank! I absolutely loved the room we had in this hotel, and would totally recommend it to all my future clients.But a location is just a backdrop. And while an awesome backdrop makes for much more awesome photos, its really all about the subject! And boy oh boy did I have just the most glamorous gal to photograph! I loved how her hair and make up was so Hollywood Glam! And she chose some pretty fabulous outfits as well!! I always get asked my boudoir clients what they should wear. My advice, obviously whatever you choose must make you feel HOT. But also, if you are self conscious of your tummy-- choose something that covers it. Don't like your rear? Wear boy shorts. Just like clothes you wear, you want your boudoir outfits to be flattering and make you feel good!Well anyways, back to this gorgeous gal! This shoot was awesome and we had a blast rockin' it out! I have received several inquiries about when my next Marathon Boudoir shoot would be, which got me thinking that I'd love to do one in time for Valentine's day! I mean boudoir pictures are pretty much the most awesome Valentine's gift idea ever! So I've nailed down a date: January 17th, which I know is only a week from today, but I hope that despite the short notice you will join me! My past marathons have just blown me out of the water and I know this one will be even better!!!So here is the scoop of what all is included:

• Sunday January 17 at The Crescent Hotel in Beverly Hills!
• 1 hour photography time
• 3-4 looks (outfit changes)
• 50 FULLY EDITED images on disc - and you get to choose your 50 images
• Printing rights to these images - you can make prints wherever/whenever!
• Your images will be mailed out to you by Feb 1st, just in time for Valentine's day, provided that you select your 50 images within 24 hours of receiving your gallery

The cost of the session will be $350.Please email me ASAP at info@ashleightaylorphotography.com if you or anyone know you is interested, and I will send you a contract and paypal invoice (payment is due in full to reserve your spot). I can take up to 5 girls, and may even be able to squeeze someone in on 1/16 at 3:00pm if that is better for any of you. The deadline to reserve your spot is Weds 1/13 at midnight!Thank you! Earlier in the fall I began researching products I could offer to my clients beyond just a disc of their images. You see pictures are meant to be looked at. They are meant to be held. They want you to flip through them. There is nothing like having your pictures in your hands. It SO beats looking at them on a screen. I want to be sure that my clients end up with prints of their photos, or better yet beautiful books of their photos. So they can pick them up and admire them often. So they can rest easy that their photos are preserved in a beautiful, tangible way. So they can enjoy them forever.So I researched and picked some products that I think are FABULOUS. And that I am confident my clients will love. I ordered a bunch of samples of these new products, and will be featuring each product on my blog within the next month or so.The first product I want to feature is a Boudoir Art Album. I always get asked from brides how they should give their b-pics to their guys and if I offer any kind of album. So now I do. These albums are more affordable, and a bit more artsy-modern than a traditional wedding album. They feature a STUNNING wraparound photo cover, matte paper, vibrant colors, lay plat pages. The pages are thick but have a slight bend to them, but they wont tear, fold or dog-ear. These are archival quality albums that will last a lifetime. These albums come with 15 spreads (30 pages) which means you can fit 30-50 pictures in it. I am offering them in 2 sizes:  6x6" and 8x8".  My sample is the 6x6". Here are some pics:

The pages lay perfectly flat so that you can *barely* see a fold.  There is no gutter, and no color variation in the minimal fold.

One advantage to the lay flat pages is that you can have a single photo over a full page spread. And boy is it gorgeous!!!!

Even in the 6x6" size you can still fit multiple photos on a page and have it look fabulous!

Last week I had the pleasure of shooting Crystal's boudoir photos! We had a great time rockin' it out, posing and being fierce!! Before the shoot Crystal had told me how hesitant she was to take boudoir photos, and I'm SO glad she pushed herself to take the jump! Doesn't she look absolutely fabulous in all these pics?! She has a little bit of Tyra in her for sure!! ;) Let this be a lesson to all brides who are hesitant to take boudoir photos-- don't be afraid!!! If you take the leap, trust your photographer, and let loose (just a little) you will be rewarded with fab photos!!! Last week, I got to shoot one very sexy lady's boudoir pictures at The Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach. Oh boy, what a lovely hotel that is! And the rooms have big, beautiful spa tubs, which made for some excellent & ultra-sultry bubble bath pictures! Boudoir sessions are my favorite kind of session to shoot. They are playful, fun, and totally empowering. I love seeing my clients walk out of a session with a boost of confidence and energy, and this session was no different. I am so lucky to have had such wonderful boudoir clients, and hope to have many, many more!I truly loved how the photos turned out from this session, but I can only share a few shots with you because the bride wishes to remain anonymous. I'm finally blogging the last set of pictures from the April 19th Marathon Boudoir shoot! Just like the other two ladies I photographed, Laura is fabulous and totally foxy! We laughed and chatted so much that by the end of the session I felt like we were old friends. I LOVE when I feel that comfy with my clients, and when they feel that comfy with me! Laura brought so much of herself to this shoot-- bubbly personality, poise, confidence, and personal style (including awesome details like the veil & bracelet she will be wearing on her Big Day)! No wonder the pictures turned out so awesome!! Take a look...

I don't know if I mentioned this, but I had a KILLER time during the marathon boudoir shoot I hosted on April 19th. Three completely fabulous women, who all definitely brought sexy back. I already showed you Vanessa's pictures... So now let's move on to the next lady, who shall remain anonymous! Since I want to protect her anonymity, I only have a few shots I can show you-- but believe me, there are many more spicy pictures that will be for her eyes only! And, of course, for her fiance's eyes as well!!

I apologize for being a little MIA, and not posting on yesterday's Wedding Advice Wednesday. I've been working feverishly on Vanessa's b-pics, because this girl is getting married in just 2 weeks! Wow!! But now I finally have some teasers to share!I absolutely love when girls walk into a Boudoir session and give it their Top Model all-- working the different facial expressions and poses! And that's exactly what Vanessa did. Tyra would be proud! I think she looks simply stunning in her pictures! So I'll stop yapping and start sharing...

*One last note: I've noticed on my last three posts that when I uploaded my photos to wordpress the color got compressed and is looking a little off. On my monitors these blogged photos are much more muted and have a slight green to them, that is NOT there on the edited files on my hard drive. I'm trying to figure out a way to rectify this as I want my work to be seen the way it was inteneded (which is not muted and greenish)...So please, bare with me!!

Hi all!I'm planning to hold a Marathon Boudoir shoot on April 19th at the W Hotel in Westwood. I have five spaces available and need a minimum of three girls to participate.Having boudoir photos taken can be an empowering experience, and I think the photos themselves are truly a gift, not just for your significant other, but also for you! Women need to take the time to celebrate themselves, their bodies, and their utter fabulousness! My sessions are always safe, private (just me, you and the camera-- but if you want a bring a friend you are free to do so), and tasteful. I am respectful of your boundaries, and areas you'd like not to focus on. However, I'm also great at bringing out your fun and flirty wild side, and will work with you to help you get the sexiest pictures possible! I've been told by past clients that the boudoir session helped them feel sexy and gorgeous! And that's my goal-- that all my clients leave the session feeling super-fierce!Here's what the session includes:

• Photo shoot at the beautiful, four star W hotel in Westwood. We will be shooting in their Fabulous King Suite

What can I say about Laurie, other than that she is fabulous? This boudoir session was my second time working with Laurie, and I was so excited because she is so sweet, caring, and gorgeous-- she is truly beautiful inside & out. Laurie was a bit nervous and shy when the session started but I cracked her shell-- or maybe the glass of wine cracked her shell, I'm not sure! By the end of the session Laurie was a pro at sexy modeling, and even taught me a few things ;)Thanks Laurie for being so beautiful and inspiring yet again! I hope these photos knock Brian's socks off!!

I love the way we used a feather boa here. It's very burlesque, which I adore!!

Roxana was the second lovely lady I photographed as part of my marathon boudoir session! She absolutely knocked my socks off! She embraced the shoot with such confidence, and enthusiasm and had tons of poses already in her repertoire (she said she prepared by watching lots of Top Model). I was thoroughly impressed with Roxana's moves-- this girl knows sexy! I'm sure you will agree after you see these pictures!

Yasmin was the first bride I photographed as part of my marathon boudoir session at the W Hotel.  Working with her was the perfect way to start the day-- she's just so sweet and lovely! I love the way she rocked the hair and make up. She reminds me of European screen sirens Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot. Even more amazing to me, is not only is Yasmin a total beauty, she also has major brains! She's a software engineer! Impressive right?! After looking at these photos, I think she might have a second career as a model in her future.So without further ado...

It's hard to believe but Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Mandi wanted to give her man a very special gift this year-- sexy boudoir pictures!
