I am an international award winning portrait photographer, and a world traveler.
I am an award winning portrait photographer based in Santa Barbara. I am also an educator and speaker and have been a featured speaker at The Portrait System, The Portrait Masters Conference & Online Store, WPPI, and ClickCon.
I have been creating unique destination portrait photoshoots for my clients in Paris since 2018. My clients and I both find this a magical experience, and every client who has booked a shoot in Paris absolutely loves their images.
I have also photographed 6 retreats / women’s tour and even hosted my own retreat in 2023 in Spain for past portrait clients of mine and their friends. I have learned a lot— the ups & downs of destination portraits and my goal is to help you figure out how to make destination photography work best for you.
Travel is my obsession (besides photography) and has changed my life for the better. I know the destination shoots I have created for clients have also changed their lives and given them fantastic memories.

Jeanette Tachynsky, owner of Embrace Retreats, is a world class retreat coordinator and will be on site with us in Paris. She will be on site as my right hand woman, making sure everything runs smoothly. Jeanette has planned retreats in Costa Rica, Canada, Iceland, and Italy just to name a few and has visited Paris several times. She is excited to co-create this magic and ensure you have an extraordinary time! When it comes to Destination Portraits there is a lot of ground to cover, so before the workshop we will have a two 45 minute group coaching calls (which will be recorded for rewatch or if you can’t attend live) to make sure the basics are covered and you are prepared in what to bring and the shots you’d like to capture.

DAY 1
Arrival & Welcome Dinner
At Dinner we will discuss the plans for our outdoor folio build shoot and make sure everyone is prepared
DAY 2
Folio Build Day
Today is dedicated to building a beautiful destination Paris portfolio. We will start with 3-4 hours of shooting outdoors at Iconic Parisian Landmarks with beautifully styled models (transportation between locations provided)
We will break for lunch.
Then we will continue shooting in a stunning natural light, indoors location
Ashleigh will be there to provide guidance & feedback on shooting, posing, and getting the best shots
After a full day of shooting, you have the evening free and dinner is on your own.
DAY 3
Education Day
Today we will dive deep into the following subjects
-Editing Destination Portraits
-Clarity on What You Want to Shoot
-Branding & Marketing
-Pricing For Profit
-Selling & Booking Clients
Lunch and a farewell dinner are provided on this day
OPTIONAL DAY 4: VIP UPGRADE
Experience your own destination shoot and be photographed by Ashleigh. It can be incredibly powerful to receive the experience you plan to offer your clients, and you can show them that you believe in the service so much you did it yourself! You can of course use these images as personal brand photography for yourself. Brunch will be provided after the shoot

Each attendee will receive a 45 minute 1:1 call with Ashleigh to follow up on anything they need further support with (must be redeemed with 8 weeks of the workshop)
Jeanette will also lead a 60 minute group coaching acall on hosting your own retreats.

+ What Does The Price of The Workshop Include?
Tickets are $4500 and include 2 full days of instruction, including a day dedicated to photographing beautifully styled models at iconic Parisian landmarks and at a beautiful, indoor & natural light venue. The goal here is to build your epic destination portfolio so you can sell with ease. As photographers, we must show what we sell.
There is also a day of instruction to learn how to edit your folio, price your destination shoots, and market and sell these shoots so you can start making money.
You will leave with everything you need to start living your destination photography dreams!
+ Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, there is a payment plan available, however, the workshop must be paid in full 4 weeks before departure.
+ What is the VIP day?
The VIP day is open to two photographers only and you will get to experience what it's like to be a client with Ashleigh at a destination shoot. This is valuable for many reasons including 1) knowing exactly what it's like to be a client and what you might want to do or offer your own clients 2) have your own personal brand destination shoots to market with 3) show your clients that you value this experience so much you did it too, and so should they!
The VIP upgrade is $2000 and gets you 20 images of your choice delivered digitally. This is an amazing offer as normally Ashleigh charges $4500 for a Paris shoot.
+ Is this a business write off?
I am not a tax professional so speak to your CPA, but yes generally speaking you can write business development and education off as well as business trips.
+ Is this workshop open to all genders?
Absolutely! If you want to shoot destination portraits this is for you!
+ I want to shoot destination portraits but I am not sure Paris is where I want to shoot?
Even if you don't see Paris being the sole focus of your destination portrait offerings, having a folio at a destination that's not your home town is extremely valuable. When people see that you have photographed internationally they have more trust in what you can do as a destination photographer.
That said, I chose Paris because it's always in demand for clients and I have found it to be the easiest city to book destination shoots in. Everyone wants to go to Paris!
+ Is there any free time to explore Paris on my own?
While our schedule is full during the days of the workshop, you can of course always extend your trip to have more time in Paris (or nearby cities in Europe) at your own cost.
+ This is the most money I have ever spent on a workshop! I feel stressed and guilty! Help?
I fully understand this hesitation. It can be scary to invest in a workshop and new education not knowing exactly how you will use it.
However I have to ask you this-- what is traveling more in your business worth to you? Would you love opportunities to photograph luxury clients at your dream destinations? What if you could photograph retreats or women's trips and get your own all expenses paid trips around the world? What is that worth to you?
If travel is your passion, if doing destination in places like Paris is your dream, then this trip is absolutely worth the investment.
+ I am afraid to travel internationally by myself! Help!
I get it! Traveling solo to a new country can be scary. The first time I traveled solo, I was very nervous.
But oh am I so glad I went because it was a trip and experience I will cherish for my whole life.
Since that trip in 2018 I have traveled solo internationally MANY times, so I am happy to answer any of your concerns or give you tips!

+ Is this refundable? What if I can no longer attend?
Due to the nature of this in person event, we cannot refund any seats. In the unfortunate event that you can no longer attend you can redeem the credit towards 1:1 coaching with Ashleigh.
+ What am I responsible for booking?
You will need to book your flights to Paris. You will also need to book accomodations, and travel insurance.
+ What about dietary restrictions?
Please advise me of any dietary restrictions or food allergies before booking so we can be sure to accomodate you.
