+ How much does it cost to Participate in the 50 over 50 Project?

The participation fee is $499. The fee not only holds your date and allows us to book in the hair and makeup artist for your shoot, it aso covers the consultation, photoshoot, one image of your choice and a ticket to the 50 Over 50 Portrait Exhibition & Celebration.

+ What does the $499 include?

The $499 participation fee includes:

• STYLING CONSULTATION - to discuss your vision for how you want to be photographed and coach you on what to wear/styling
• HAIR & MAKE UP - professional hair & makeup on your photoshoot date
• ACCESS TO STUDIO WARDROBE - you have unlimited access to our studio closet of couture gowns and other fun accessories if you wish to wear them for your shoot
• PHOTOSHOOT - a 3 hour photoshoot with Ashleigh
• IMAGE VIEWING & ORDER SESSION - a zoom session to look at the images we have created for you. At this session you can choose the one complimentary image in your $499 package, or if you want to order more images you can do so by choosing one of our larger packages.
• PORTRAIT CELEBRATION + Exhibition - upon completion of the project there will be a celebration and exhibition to showcase the portraits of all 50 women. You will have one ticket to this event
• VIP FACEBOOK GROUP - be a part of a community of women all participating in this project. Share your experience and cheer each other on
• FEATURED ON OUR BLOG + SOCIAL MEDIA - your images and story will be featured on our social media, blog and possibly youtube

This package is a total value of over $2190 but because we are so passionate about this project we are offering these shoots at just $499 to cover our team + hard costs.

+ What if I want more than one image?

Absolutely! When you see the stunning images we have created for you, there's a good chance you are going to want more than one! In fact, 94% of our Volume I participants opted to order complete image packages.

Additional images a la carte are $499 each. Our packages with 10 images start at $2500 + tax and go up from there. If you order a package, we will credit your $499 participation feee towards the package price.

We do take credit cards and offer payment plans as well.

Again, there's no hard sell to buy more. This is about what you love and you won't know what you love until you see the portraits I have created for you! So this isn't something to worry about now, it's a decision you make later when you see the results of our shoot.

+ Where does the shoot take place?

At our studio in downtown Santa Barbara CA.

+ What days do you have available for this shoot?

We shoot Mondays - Fridays typically with at 10:30am start and wrapping by 2:00pm. Availability is first come, first served and based on both Ashleigh's schedule and our hair & makeup artist's schedule. Once booked, we will work with you to find an ideal time.

+ Tell me about the Portrait Exhibition + Celebration?

One of the most exciting parts of this project is to celebrate all 50 of our participants and share your images and stories with the community. On April 20, 2024 we had our exhibition to celebrate Volume I of the Project. We got local press coverage too and it was an epic night.

You will be participating in Volume II. We do not yet have the date, venue or full details for the Volume II exhibition but of course we want it to be even more fabulous than Volume I. Details to come, stay tuned!

+ Why are you passionate about this project?

I just turned 38, and I feel like I've been told by many people and by the media that "my best days are numbered" or "it's all downhill from here." My internal wisdom knows these cultural cliches are COMPLETE BS. There's no expiration date on being a fabulous, happy, fulfilled, and vibrant woman. I love to look to the women a couple steps ahead of me in life who are absolutely rockin' it. You inspire me. Your story inspires me. You show me and our society the truth-- that a woman just gets better with time, like a fine wine! I am a huge believer in women's empowerment. And, I know that if I am inspired by women of all ages, others will be as well. But there aren't many platforms for women over 50 to share their story and their beauty. That's why I created this project.

+ I'm not photogenic though! Is that ok?

Whoa, stop right there beauty! I simply don't believe in "photogenic." It's my job as the photographer to make you look and feel amazing! And lucky for you I am a trained master at making women of all ages, shapes and sizes look amazing in photographs.

+ What will I wear?

We will coach you on what to wear. You can wear up to 4 different outfits in your photoshoot. You can be casual in jeans and a black or white shirt. You can wear a sun dress. You can wear a fancy cocktail dress or jumpsuit. You can wear yoga clothes. You could even wear lingerie or your birthday suit. There's no rules. This is up to you! I want to photograph you based on YOUR UNIQUE VISION.

+ What if I'd like to include my children, partner, pet or family?

Certainly! You can definitely include loved ones in your shoot! Extra hair and make up is $250 per person (if needed). Part of your story is the people (and furry pets) you love. So if you want to include your loved ones, the more the merrier. And you also have total permission to make this photoshoot just about YOU!

+ Can I refer a friend over 50 to also be a part of this project?

Yes! I would love to also have your friends be a part of this project! Please spread the word.

+ What if I booked my date & paid $499 and then have to reschedule?

I totally understand that life happens! I do book in my hair & makeup artist's time to be at your photoshoot. Therefore, you are allowed one reschedule more than 14 days out from the shoot at no charge. If we have less than 14 days notice (or this is the second time you need to reschedule) we do charge a $250 rescheduling fee. This goes to compensate the hair & makeup artist for lost work. That said, hopefully this won't be an issue at all.

The $499 is a non refundable retainer so please be sure you are committed when paying your retainer.
